I’m noticing something so disturbing regarding people’s loyalty toward elected officials. Some people behave like battered women who think their husbands love them, or like a spouse, partner, or mate who was caught cheating but is forgiven instantly because the other person chooses to ignore it. They can’t admit they were wrong, deceived, or conned. They repeat to themselves “I trust {insert name}”, while in a disturbing state of denial—hoping things will get better but it never, ever does. They’re enablers, making the person they trusted into a better asshole
