Today marks 2 years of running every day. A few things I’ve learned along the way. 1. Nothing moves the needle quite as much as just volume. You can lift, do intervals, get supplements. But none of that will help you more than just increasing the amount of running you do. 2. Honey is by far my favorite gel. Simple, clean, easy. You can do nerds or candy etc, but it’s nice having a single ingredient product. 3. My best runs happened on the worst days. Days where my Whoop said I had a horrible recovery. It’s almost like a challenge. Like “oh yeah you’re gonna tell me my body can’t do this today? Just watch” 4. The best shoes are the ones you like the most. Saucony vs On vs Nike etc. just pick ones you like. For me it’s CloudMonster, Vomero Premium, AlphaFly, Evo SL, and Zoomfly 5. There is no reason to miss a day. You can always make it happen.

My folks are in Puerto Vallarta, sheltering in place. Set to fly home Tuesday, but who knows now. My dad is Colombian, but spent much of his childhood living in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, where in the late 50s his dad set up the first hospital to serve the indigenous people in the area. I served my LDS mission in Veracruz, in the peaceful years before the cartel violence set in. Our family loves Mexico, and I hope this doesn’t mean the end of visiting such a beautiful country and people. Prayers for my folks and everyone in danger would be appreciated. #CielitoLindo

I have a sad announcement to make today: Seis is shutting down. I’m grateful to all of the customers who loved & used our product, and I’m really proud of how we were able to serve them. We opened accounts for over 500,000 people, most of whom were immigrants, and had over 100,000 5-star reviews in the App Store. This customer love manifested itself in the business too: - We grew from $0 to $10m in annualized revenue 16 months after launching - Customers spent over $500m annually on their Seis debit cards So what happened? There’s a lot to say here, but the short story is that immigration patterns changed & we saw less demand for our product. We're taking a few months to wind down the right way - for our customers and our banking partners. Five years in fintech taught us how much these relationships matter. We built our products compliance first, and we want to finish the way we operated. We also have amazing folks who are looking for jobs, I’ll post a public spreadsheet in the comments. One final thought for now: nothing has ever made me feel more alive than running Seis when things were really working. If you have the opportunity to found or join a company that is growing, I highly recommend it. Thank you again to everyone who supported Seis.
