@Mr_D_Teacher Maths with Parents worked great for us across all year groups (they also have English and Science). Parents can leave comments and pictures - based on this we introduced Maths with Parents/ English with Parents Newsletters & weekly awards - it raised the parental engagement.

What does homework, in particular for maths, look like at your school? We scrapped homework this year but parental feedback has been overwhelming in wanting it back. I don’t want to create lots of work for staff. We use TTRS and Numbots.

@funkymonarch @WhistleblowingT Indeed. It takes time preparing for the interview, depending on the tasks plus the day itself; you’d think people are considerate and respectful.

@T_TinyHumans @WhistleblowingT 😂 omg! That’s awful, I figured by the time I’d got into the actual interview that this wasn’t the school for me. I wish they wouldn’t treat candidates like idiots in these things.

@funkymonarch @WhistleblowingT This happened to me too, literally last week 😅. She tried to come up with a fake surname for us (the other candidates) as we pointed at her picture from the DSL board.

@WhistleblowingT Went for an interview where there was an internal candidate but the school tried to pretend she was an external. Her picture was on the staff board in reception and I’d already done my research. Interview before mine, staff stood round the corner congratulating her. Appalling.

@MrsHeadteacher @WhistleblowingT Sadly, that’s still true in some schools “it is the school” which took me by surprise. I was talking to a primary head last week regarding the high number of SEN students they now have and the “cpd and sen training for all staff” was a firm “no”.

@WhistleblowingT It’s not the the school aren’t listening, it’s more that SEN in mainstream classes is a huge problem and it comes without extra funding to employ more staff. Teachers are having to manage all needs and adapt teaching on their own - not right and not easy, but no other option

@WhistleblowingT If you’ve done supply work, the recruitment agencies should give you a reference.
