I watched a peer presentation on teaching Native American students today! Something I learned is that when Native Americans first discovered and settled in the area where the current day US is, they traveled over a now-destroyed land bridge from Asia to get to it. #gccedu

Today, I watched a peer presentation on teaching Arab students! Something I learned that I didn't know before is that Arab parents use an authoritarian style of parenting. Their kids respect them, and the father is the head of the household always. #gccedu

Today I got to watch a presentation on teaching homeless students by one of my peers! Something I learned was that students who live with friends are still considered homeless, and doubled-up homes make up 74% percent of where homeless students live! I didn't know that. #gccedu

I watched a presentation on teaching Latino students! @HGangewer did a great job! I learned today that Latino cultures are fatalistic. They see you as in the same societal position your whole life, so they don't see you as able to to move up/advance through hard work. #gccedu

From creating my lesson about teaching Asian American students, I learned that Asian parents are very involved in their kids' education and most enroll them in extra programs to help them get ahead. Asian schools' kids also are above grade level by 2.5yrs (in comp to US)! #gccedu

Hey all!! Today @megan_parkEDU and @specht_edu presented on ADHD really well! 2 things I learned were that there are 3 types of ADHD - inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, and combined. I also learned that 9.4% of US teens/kids are diagnosed with it! #gccedu #futureteacherslead
