🇩🇪 finance minister Lindner again demands a reduction in corporate taxes to boost growth. As we show in a recent paper, the empirical evidence does *not* support this: growth effects are regularly exaggerated, and particularly weak when goverment spending is cut at the same time.

Beginning in 1986, the Anfal campaign killed more than 182,000 Kurds in two years of slaughter by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's Baathist regime. Named after the eighth surah in the Quran, the campaign began on April 14, 1988, in the Kurdistan Region's Garmiyan area.

As we mark the 33rd anniversary of the tragic Kurdish exodus of 1991, let's not forget those who helped, among them the generous people of Poland who sent truckloads of medicine and food while they were spending a difficult time themselves. @KrgPoland | @PLinErbil
