@WCCSG_ It would have to be North Dakota State given they play in a small dome. Few people show up to watch the New Mexico teams, same problem at San Jose St, Nevada, and UNLV. Northern Illinois draws poorly, so let’s go with Texas State as runner up
English

@RyanDBerryman @NITMBB RB, as a season ticket holder & Pit West pass holder I want to thank you for moving mountains to be able to host the game tonight.
Pit was awesome as always and the seniors deserved this send off. Great work, thanks RB.
English

What a thrill!
I am so proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff for their efforts to keep this special season going.
@NITMBB Final 4, here we come! 🐺

@eequeteesher505 @cervezalobo Two things:
1. He could have left after yr #2 and stayed to deliver a MW title, & an NCAA win all while being the MVP.
2. Never begrudge a 22 year old man from accepting the opportunity to earn $3M. System sucks but don’t blame the kid for doing what any reasonable man would do
English

@cervezalobo I hate to be a negative Nancy, but he did leave us. It’s not like he stayed his whole career or anything. There are so many Lobo guards throughout history that played their entire career and played better than Dent. Great player and person, but a Lobo Legend is a stretch.
English

@dlishhhh @skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 That’s more of a creation of all the other MW schools than a real reason coaches leave.
There hasn’t been a single coach (that hasn’t been fired) that left to go to a parallel opportunity or a downgrade job wise simply because ABQ sucks.
English

@Tacoeldosscotty @skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 I’m just saying Albuquerque is a contributing factor to why coaches leave.
English

If I’m Utah State, some of the names I like…
Bob Richey (Furman)
Eric Olen (New Mexico)
————————————
Russell Turner (UC Irvine)
Takayo Siddle (UNCW)
Chris Victor (Seattle)
Flynn Clayman (High Point)
Eran Ganot (Hawaii)
Jeremy Shulman (UT Martin)
Ryan Hammer🔨@ryanhammer09
If you’re Utah State, what next elite mid major coach do would you call first to come to Logan?
English

@dlishhhh @skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 Olen will eventually leave because his career trajectory will take him to a P5 school.
He won’t leave b/c ABQ sucks. He, like most UNM coaches, lives in Tanoan which is extremely exclusive.
Some P5 will offer to triple his salary and provide 5X the NIL. That’s why he’ll leave.
English

@Tacoeldosscotty @skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 Yes, there’s a reason that state is solely used for blowing stuff up. Olen will be outta there soon
English

@dlishhhh @skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 Derek, serious question, have you ever been to Albuquerque in your life?
If you have, tell me all you can about Tanoan…
English

@skolrays @jerebearlanger @ryanhammer09 Oh no Logan isn’t a super desirable place to live either. But better than Albuquerque
English

@ryanhammer09 @skolrays More PAC12 delusion. The PAC is a mid major with one sure fire bid in Gonzaga every year and then possibly 1-2 additional bids depending on the year.
Does anybody ever ask why coaches find it so easy to leave Logan?
English

@skolrays Not sure tbh. Usu going to pac 12 UNM not so I think it’s absolutely a possibility
English

@ryanhammer09 Eric Olen is not leaving New Mexico for Utah State.
Utah State is not an upgrade from UNM
English

@AggieButthead Eric Olen is not leaving New Mexico for Utah State.
English

Get Eric Olen
Starting lineup of:
Jake Hall
Mason Falslev
P5 transfer wing
Karson Templin
Tomislav Buljan
That team goes further next year than we did this year 👀👀👀👀👀👀
#AggiesAllTheWay
Derick@CordialSportFan
Eric Olen armed with Jake Hall & a $4.5M buy out is going to be dangerous in the PAC.
English

@MeserveRic67130 @CSURamT a city (San Diego) and an arena (Viejas) that they played in during MW play 3 weeks ago instead of being sent to Buffalo was a nice perk.
I wish UNM & SDSU would have made it but their #’s didn’t support it. The seed ceiling for USU might have been a 7.
English

@MeserveRic67130 @CSURamT Every bracketology available to man had USU as an 8 or 9 seed for just about the entire last month of the season.
Their bracket projection average over more than 100 brackets in the final week was 8.45 so a 9 seed wasn’t so far off. Throw in that they got to play in (cont)
English

@B_Rog505 @Tacoeldosscotty There will always be an East Coast and Elitist 4 bias that impacts the bids and seeding, but at least the fat at the bottom is trimmed, and the ceiling is higher in the PAC12, so that can only help by comparison.
English

@CSURamT @AdamDroge Exactly my point, the PAC will have slightly better overall numbers but not enough to make the 2nd or 3rd place team any higher than a 7,8,9 seed and that’s assuming the top team is Gonzaga with their standard 2,3,4 seed.
PAC is not going to get P4 (not Big East) seeding
English

@Tacoeldosscotty @AdamDroge 5 year averages in the NET:
Wazzu - 76.2
Oregon St - 162.0
Texas St - 166.6
Fresno St - 168.4
By comparison to the Big East, Wazzu's 5 year average is comparable to Seton Hall. OSU, Texas St, and Fresno St all have higher Net Rankings than Georgetown and Depaul.
English

@MeserveRic67130 @CSURamT Seeding has NOTHING to do with previous tourney results.
Seeding has NOTHING to do with previous tourney results.
Seeding has NOTHING to do with previous tourney results.
Seeding has NOTHING to do with previous tourney results.
Seeding has NOTHING to do with previous…
English

@CSURamT The MW needed teams other than SDSU to get out of the 1st round to be considered for better seeding. The PAC will need teams not named Gonzaga or SDSU to do the same if they want to be considered a top 5 MBB conference.
English

@CSURamT @AdamDroge Talk to me about the average NET rankings of Fresno St, Texas St, Washington St, and Oregon State over the last three years….
Try doing it without excuses for WSU & OSU since they played in a three bid league this year.
I’ll wait…
English

@AdamDroge The average NCAA Net over the last 5 years for AF (260), SJSU (219), Wyo 110, UNLV (91), UNM (65), Nevada (61) is all lower than 4 of the 5 members leaving the MW for the PAC12.
English

@CSURamT @B_Rog505 Now tell me outside of UCONN & St John’s, how did the Big East do in terms of bids & seeds the last few years?
Truth is, being the 5th or 6th best conf in this era of BB is essentially the exact same.
PAC will get 2-3 bids on average & outside of GU & SDSU, seeds will be low
English

@SCOTTLAKE0 MW will be a two bid league in most years. UNM, Nev, & GCU will always be close to the bubble. If UNLV learns how to not screw themselves with bad non conference losses they will be in the mix too. Hawaii will be decent as will Wyoming so I guess we’ll see
English

Our time of paying child support to the rest of the MW is almost up and they know it!!!
Coach Hurst@peopleschamp87
Nevarez counting Utah State tournament money that will stay in the MWC #MountainWest #Pac12

@PhilipTortora Try living in the mountain & pacific time zones. Many of our regular season games start at 9:00 or later to meet TV windows on the east coast
These are college kids, if they weren’t hooping at that time they would be home playing their X-Box until 2:00am
Fans are the victims
English

@Bigmacmurph I was there, that game was bad for sure
36-13 discrepancy for USU in FTAs in the USU/Nova game was a bit much IMO. I’m simply suggesting that all the USU fans complimenting today’s refs is not surprising given those numbers
Yes Nova shot a ton of 3’s but 2pt FGAs were 35-33 USU
English

@Tacoeldosscotty A total of 49 free throws were taken. Compare that with the 86 taken during the Nevada vs GCU quarterfinal in the Mountain West tournament this year, or the 62 that occurred in the USU vs New Mexico game at the end of the regular season.
