Holy crap the Official Change•org account just tweeted that the Petition to make Destiny 3 has over 400k Signatures! Remember the petition for WoW Classic Servers had 270k Signatures and it was a MASSIVE success. Clearly D3 needs to be Greenlit.

@RickKackis Don't get me wrong—I love Destiny. I tested Edge of Fate and even Halo 2 back in the day, and I've met some great people at Bungie (even if they never let me ride the lobby Sparrow 😄). Looking at it objectively, lasting 10 years in today's oversaturated gaming market is amazing.

How much of those operating costs was Cancelled incubation games and unnessesary studio expansions? Sony Games Studios is literally a Publising Company. Unless your argument is that they will never greenlight another game again, it makes much more financial sense to greenlight an existing IP with a ravenous fanbase, therefore guarenteeing some return on investment, unlike Concord. That's economics, not opinion.

@RickKackis @TaiwanTwan As much as I wish it did, the math doesn't work. 400k people buy that game at $100, that's $40M, which is still $460 million short of the projected cost to develop the game.

@RickKackis Revenue ≠ profit. Destiny 2 making money doesn't mean it met Sony's expectations. If operating costs are high and ROI falls short, it's an underperforming investment. That's economics, not opinion.

it's great to see the D2 numbers still pretty high, but depressing when you remember there is nothing coming to ever make that line go up again

@PaulTassi It feels like you're creating a false choice: either people love every casting decision or they're part of some miserable "anti-woke" crowd. Reality is more nuanced than that. People can object to creative changes on artistic grounds without attacking the actors involved.

The Odyssey is going to make a bunch of money, win a bunch of awards and millions of people will love it. Hating it sight unseen because you want to be part of an edgy antiwoke movement spamming buzzwords and slurs in comment threads is just a miserable way to live.
