His name is John Elijah Matthews, a Black male. 66-year-old Margaret Swan was sitting alone in the train car when Matthews walked up to her and st*bbed her in the throat in broad daylight. Swan began screaming and trying to get up from her seat, but Matthews held her down and then st*bbed her 18 more times.
