OPINION | Julius Malema is a dictatorial and criminally-accused leader of a party that worships fascism and Russian president Vladimir Putin, but why do thousands of South Africans still believe in him, asks @AdriaanBasson. fal.cn/3AjPV

@ThuliMadonsela3 @KingTebza160330 But I don’t believe we’re meant to carry the burdens of our ancestors for another 200 years. How do we break the cycle, heal and move forward?

You will never move forward if you don’t know where you are going and where you are.The past remains with us, it never left and will only leave us when we honestly and earnestly address the unjustly manufactured inequalities of its time. @jsteenhuisen Thank you @Our_DA this is not the rainbow nation Madiba dreamt of, but sadly the other comrades don’t have the same mindset as Madiba. The ANC sadly wasn’t supposed to rule, after Madiba

Julius Malema has resurrected the demon of hatred, division and ethnic violence in South Africa. He is determined to ignite the civil war our country narrowly averted in the 1990s. The DA will not look away. We are confronting this bloodthirsty tyrant head-on. #StopMalema

@jazzyl @Our_DA If I’m born in South Africa, I’m South African. How about leaving the burdens of our ancestors with them, instead of giving it to our descendants to carry for the next 400 years?

The DA unreservedly condemns the call to “Shoot to kill” and “Kill the Boer” by Julius Malema. Incitement to violence has no place in our society. The EFF is our political enemy number one and the DA is determined to stop Malema in the 2024 election. da.org.za/2023/07/kill-t…

You really wanna know what I think? I think of one is an absolute fool to think that you are gonna jail an 80 year old liberation fighter and expect that it's gonna be business as usual. Folks forget there is no more Mandela who will convince people to remain peaceful like after the murder of Hani.

It is extremely suspicious that a day after the Constitutional Court ruled that Former President Jacob Zuma should return to the Estcourt Correctional Centre to complete his prison sentence, it emerged that he fled to Russia to seek medical attention. President Zuma, who oversaw the biggest destruction of state entities during his presidency, has long used the same Stalingrad tactics, such as endless and vexatious interlocutory court action or seeking medical attention, to avoid answering questions at the State Capture inquiry or going to prison as ruled by the courts.

@maphungubgwe @Action4SA What do you think about cowardly Zuma turning tail to escape prison? Instead of criticising opposition parties, consider the truth in what they are saying.

Anthony bass complaining on Twitter is a tone deaf , stupid move. Still, I’m not that cool with expecting a pregnant woman to clean up that popcorn. I’d at least have helped her. But that’s just me.

@BlackChineseGal @DeanMacpherson But why are we still protesting like we were when we were fighting the apartheid government? It’s not the 1980s anymore, but I guess SA and her people haven’t learned anything new 🤦🏽‍♀️

@DeanMacpherson The EFF is fighting for the voiceless we r tired of loadshedding, Ramaphosa n everything associated with his presidency, the DA has lost my respect for mocking their peaceful efforts. The fact you are against this protest means you r satisfied with Ramaphosa.

It’s 07:30 and let’s call the “national shutdown” was it is, a complete and utter FAILURE. I’ve gone to get my car serviced, been to the office and grabbed a coffee. While the EFF play toy-soldiers, South Africas are getting on with it.

@MmusiMaimane I don't trust South Africans. 14 years of loadshedding and it just got worse and worse over the years, but nobody is doing anything. Still voting for the same government, or not voting at all. 😭

@AmbPeschke @PieterDuToit @GermanEmbassySA @GermanyCapetown Restrictions allow “special circumstances” into Germany. My fiancé is a German citizen, currently in Germany, who I was meant to spend Christmas with, but now can’t. previous bans separated us for months. What’s the difference, allowing only certain people in?

The @BungalowClifton tried to deny me access because I’m wearing a bikini top and a matching coverup showing cleavage but my male counterparts with their entire chests out were allowed in, because of “policy”. Is this not a beach front venue? Since when do we police cleavage?
