@Kaybearmomma This confuse the shit out of me. We call hamburger the whole burger, bread tomato lettuce etc. Ground beef is called mince. So that box say you are supposed to make a Mac and cheese hamburger for us.

This is why I purposefully don’t write in regards to any particular political messaging and instead go for more universal themes or philosophy instead.
That kind of thing makes your story timeless because it strikes at the heart of the matter rather than shallow level points scoring.
It’s also fun whenever there is the odd person who questions the politics of my books and I just go “it’s a knight fighting an alien in front of a magical artifact, you tell me what political stance that takes.”

The problem with a lot of people creating stuff now is that they're so obsessed with current politics. Not the concepts of politics and how it can be used in stories but specific people and nothing beyond surface level disdain. They have no interest in building something for others to enjoy, or inspiring people with what could be. They simply drag their own work and others works they take over down to dunk on what they hate. They're more like anti creators they don't really create something, they just put things on camera, on page, representing everything they hate just to smash and destroy and get personal catharsis from doing it by the end. Leaving the viewer with nothing after because they're not creating something for them, to last, to be enjoyed, inhabited. It's a temporary rage out room designed just for themselves. They're just smashing an action figure of someone they hate. Which is why so much of their work feels hollow. Because all you're left with at the end as a viewer, player, reader, is a bunch of smashed up pieces of a stand in of their political enemies. Nothing new, nothing said, nothing to inhabit or build upon. Just destruction and spite, all focused on one man half the world only barely pays attention to.

@Critical_Scribe @wwarrior_1 Not only that, but fighting games as old as MK has a massive roster of characters and they have been tested over and over, they know who is popular and who is not, and they know you can't make a new character and fans will just like him, it's a gamble with 0 odds.

@Critical_Scribe Sometimes a story takes years to develop, then to write and then you need to get it to the public. If your story has current day politics in it could be years behind relevance and your side could have lost the argument and be the laughing stock of current culture.
