@letangcult @killinger_95944 @frednashpgh Just redundant commentary, that’s all. Yeah most AHL players don’t translate success to the NHL. That’s why they’re in the AHL? But you never know. The youngins always have potential. That’s where the excitement comes from. Hope!

@Jakecook7114 @JFreshHockey In a tied elimination game? At the end of a period when scoring chances have been put to rest? Officials have set a standard in this game; they are taking one.

@JFreshHockey @pensroadwarrior Idk man. There’s definitely an element of nostalgia here, but they’re pretty inoffensive in my opinion. Prefer them to the old robo-penguin jerseys. They maybe lack originality. Could argue they are boring, etc. But to see them wear the kits one last time? Come onnn

@ARAnalytics The way in which that kind of behaviour presents at different ages is typically different. Many different angles here, but can we admit you are making an observational assumption that is unfair? Using clip A as evidence to make your statement? Comes off pretty unprofessional.

@ARAnalytics Yes, concussions can have cognitive impact to the extent of impacting personality over time. But using this clip as if it is some bone fide example of “what he used to be like”… Every 20 something year old has goofball moments. Same can be said for a 30+ year old.

@cudasbob @puckempire they'll have Barzal, Horvat, Pelech, and Sorokin. they're not tearing it down. but they don't need to acquire and extend every 32-37 year old they can get their hands on either

What's with Isles fans wanting to get rid of all their vets and be complete garbage. You got gifted an elite top-10 defenseman for the next ~15 years. You don't need to fully strip down and tank. Schaefer needs to play competitive hockey.
Stefen Rosner@stefen_rosner

#Isles captain, pending UFA, Anders Lee doesn't want to play anywhere else: "It's where I've played my entire career. It's where I've put my best foot forward as much as I can. I didn't take anything for granted. I just want to have another good night tonight with the team and this group. And let's close this out with two points."

@Soulslayer434 @ChialikeIllGrow @MikeBartner Sid is soon to be 39 years old. I understand the argument/observation to an extent. But “why do people care about this? Others are going to accomplish this too!” is a pretty mute point lol. Especially when the “others” are McDavid and Celebrini lol. Generational type players.

@ChialikeIllGrow @MikeBartner So if scoring continues to rise or stay as it is now even a McDavid at like 70% of his current skill has a good chance of getting a point per game.

@JoshYohe_PGH Why change what’s working? Bouncing around has not worked well for him in recent years (until this season). Just wonder about superstitions for a player like him.

@JoshYohe_PGH Lots of talk about Mantha as of late. In my opinion, extending him medium to long-term at a significant hit is dangerous. But for a player like him, who has struggled with health and consistency over the years… Do you think his interest in resigning could outweigh chasing money?

@AGretz He doesn’t handle physicality well. Loses a lot of battles. Easily disrupted. Excels with quick give and go plays; layups for the third/high forward. Hard to justify paying a player like him anything more than 3M. Ideally a third line playmaker. Love him when he’s good.

@AGretz I think he’s a great distributor. Awesome when he has time and space. Works with Malkin and Chinakov well. But he isnt particularly strong in creating off offensive zone setups. Rush oriented for sure. Decent complimentary player, but not adaptive. He is what he is, I suppose,

@LassStats @yolo_pinyato Your statement invites conversation. I remember the 2010-2014 era of Fleury strongly, because I was very very frustrated as a fan. 2008, 2009 and 16/17 are different stories. He was essential in those runs. Big game goalie. Merely countering with some historical context.

@LassStats @yolo_pinyato I just think there’s a contradiction in your initial statement. “When they needed him to be” vs “most clutch goalie of all time” vs “in the salary cap era”. There were several playoff runs where Flower was not himself. When stars were out, they NEEDED him to be good. He wasn’t.

@JFreshHockey @LassStats Fleury was a high and low goalie. When he was ON, he was fantastically unique. Flexible, athletic, charismatic. But the playoffs were not kind to him in that era. He was rattled very easily. One bad goal generally lead to others. I dont think it’s unfair to remember that.

@LassStats 2011 was a write-off with Crosby and Malkin hurt but that team was playing elite defensive hockey without them and fleury let them down in 2012, sorry if you watch that series and don't blame fleury i don't know what to tell you

• One of worst efforts of season from Pens • Blue line isn’t equipped to deal with Carolina forecheck • PK keeps abandoning net front — not good • Stu not good • Rust only player who seems to realize it’s a big game • Geno looks slow • Taylor Hall’s flopping = embarrassing

@M_Griff10 @CanadianPens @JoshYohe_PGH @emanningwrites I see seven points in his post, six of which criticize the pens for their fate in this game. Think it’s possible that the one criticism of an opposing player might stand alone? Might be deserving of some credit if you watched the game?

@Besthockeyfan1 @PBro314 @lOrd0fthewing Actually it does matter embellishment or not. That’s why a 2 minute minor for embellishment exists. Because it matters. If it didn’t matter, there wouldn’t be an embellishment infraction written in ink in the rule book.

That’s embarrassing that this Canada/Finland game is going to end with a gift PPG for Canada (called by a Canadian NHL ref) and Mack clearly embellishing the “high stick” This isn’t some game in Buffalo in November. It’s the Winter Olympics. Put the whistle away unless it’s bad.
