@DavidSacks but trump is giving into the regulatory capture. You and chamath are so afraid to disagree with this administration. Its time to speak up.

It’s true that Anthropic is the fastest growing company that Silicon Valley has ever seen. Which is all the more reason their incessant attempts at regulatory capture are not just unnecessary but frankly gross.
Marc Benioff@Benioff

What most impresses me about Anthropic (besides unprecedented revenue growth) is their enterprise hat trick: the best model (Claude), the best coding agents (Claude Code), & the best productivity tool (Cowork). Salesforce is proud to be an early investor, customer, and partner.

Secretary @howardlutnick is right. The Kimi Panic needs to stop. — American frontier models are still ahead. When you factor in what’s in the lab, the gap is even larger. As long as we keep releasing, we will stay ahead. Let our horses run. — As Ben Thompson showed, Kimi’s apparent cost advantage largely disappears once you account for higher token usage and the real cost of running a model this size. Open weights still require expensive infrastructure. — Anthropic and OpenAI are growing revenue at rates that Silicon Valley has never seen before at this scale. This remains the clearest test of who is winning the market. President Trump’s light-touch regulatory approach is working. We should remain confident in American innovation. As long as we don’t sabotage ourselves with unnecessary rules, the U.S. will continue to win.
Howard Lutnick@howardlutnick

CAISI’s latest report shows that Kimi K3 remains behind America’s leading frontier AI models. The United States continues to lead in frontier AI because we’re home to the greatest innovators and technologists the world has ever seen.

A new AI model went rogue and hacked other computers. No, this is not science fiction. Uncontrolled AI poses a serious threat to all of us. We cannot continue the race to build and deploy this powerful technology until strong safeguards are in place. CONGRESS MUST ACT.

Getting diagnosed with an incurable disease is the best thing to happen to me in a long time. My project shifted overnight from longevity staples to disease resolution and frontier biotech. We have so many awesome things cooking.

The leading AI has already forked into two options. A: Closed source American that costs $26-56 per 1MM tokens. B: Open weight Chinese that costs $0.50-1 per 1MM tokens. If you force American companies to spend 50-100x more than their competitors abroad here is what will happen: 1. American companies spending 50-100x will at some point become financially impaired and the stock market will crater. This is the equivalent of the US Government saying we can only buy oil at $800/barrel even when the free market sells the same oil for $80/barrel. 2. In the short term, the revenues of the Closed American Labs may remain hi. But then their revenue will also crater because their customers in the US will be impaired and their customers abroad will have already flipped to cheaper solutions. This would be a terribly self-defeating form of intervention if it were to happen.

SITUATION BREWING: The Trump administration is considering restricting cutting-edge Chinese AI models, with momentum reviving after the launch of Kimi K3, per Axios.

President Trump promised not to add to the national debt during his presidential campaign -- and, in fact, that he would pay it down. He has failed badly on both counts. President Trump has become the worst-spending President in our history, adding ~$2.2-$2.3 T to the national debt in each of his first two years and in his second term. He's on track to add $9T+ in his second term, beating the previous high-water mark of $7.8T -- set by his first term. Only if you voted for President Trump, please reply with your feelings on this issue and his first 18 months more broadly.

.@DavidSacks @elonmusk The Chinese models are distilling off American models… my guess is American models can’t legally do this without being sued by Chinese AI companies in American courts .. 🤔.. and distilling a Chinese model is really theft from an American company… What should American AI and IP policy be here? If distillation isn’t enforced against, then everyone should be able to distill from everyone else.. otherwise one arm tied behind American models’ backs. Maybe systems need to get better at preventing distillation techniques, and problem solves itself?
