I understand how cliche this sounds, but I lowkey wanna start a discord server for this 200 days. Where a bunch of folks get together and do this: - 1 week of leetcode - 1 week of building a basic web-app - Decide what they enjoy the most on day 15 - Leetcode enjoyers spend the next 45 days strengthening their fundamentals. - Dev enjoyers spend the next 45 days learning basics of FE, BE, and Android/iOS (just to understand what they'd like to go deeper into) - Everybody then spends the next 100 days doing 100DaysOfCode and upskilling hard in their chosen stack. - At the end, the remaining 40 days would be for job / internship hunting (if you haven't gotten one already)

Mediocrity in anything will render you stuck and your life will be filled with difficulties and directionlessness. Very good competitive programmers don't take too long to get good at building things. Very good devs don't have too much trouble while having to decide the right data structures for their problems. At this point, it's pretty useless to waste time trying to hoard conflicting advice about the direction you should pick. Just stfu and spend 1 week on Leetcode and 1 week building a basic web-app. At the end of 2 weeks, take pick one and become an absolute expert at it. If you do end up liking the dev path, try backend, frontend, mobile for a month each, then pick whatever from that point on. 3 months + 2 weeks is a very very small time frame on a big enough scale that you want your career to be.

Last January, I noticed something peculiar in my 2yo’s bedroom that - after a year of obsessive reporting - led me to a profound cosmic revelation about what’s even possible in our universe. A 🧵.
