"The idea of a … recreational swim near the tomb is 'horrifying,' said William M. McBride, a Navy veteran and professor emeritus of history at the U.S. Naval Academy .… 'Snorkeling around Arizona is as disrespectful as playing kickball on top of the graves at Arlington.'"
Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1

NYT confirms — with new details: Last year, Navy SEALs used two boats to escort Kash Patel and nine others on what a Pentagon email called a 'VIP Snorkel' next to one of the military's most sacred sites, the underwater tomb of the U.S.S. Arizona. One Navy vet called the swim "horrifying." nytimes.com/2026/05/15/us/…

Senator Thom Tillis@SenThomTillis

The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst. Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers. General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis. Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Keep your word, Mr. Secretary: choose meritocracy over your mediocre yes-men. notus.org/defense/pentag…

Everyone in shock and awe over Trump's comments that he doesn't care about the money woes of the American people....🤣😂 Of COURSE he doesn't. He's a JEWISH LOYALIST to ISRAEL. That's who he WORKS for. Ask him if he cares about the financial concerns of the Israeli people and you'll get an ENTIRELY different ANSWER.

EXCLUSIVE: Journalist hesitant to say the words “Department of War” in news articles. But calls biological males “she/her” without batting an eye. Is it whataboutism? Or is Jim LaPorta an agent of the DECEPTACONS? More at 11.
Jim LaPorta@JimLaPorta

This is quite the whataboutism pivot. I have no problem calling the Defense Department—the War Department—once Congress officially changes it. Separately, we try to cover all service members and veterans, not just the ones whose service you personally deem to be worthy.

@JonahDispatch @greggnunziata Republicans will never stop being absolutely delusional about who Donald Trump is. Republicans in Congress standby as he insults our allies and praises dictators. And while they know Trump will sell America out for his own personal gain, they pretend that he has principles.

When you listen to Trump talk about Taiwan (or many other topics) it’s the stuff he doesn’t say that is more revealing. Asked about Taiwan he blathers on about how big and strong China is, how tiny Taiwan is, about tariffs and dumb American presidents who didn’t use them. What doesn’t he talk about? Alliances, obligations, democracy, values, honor, etc. Keep in mind, if you don’t care whether Trump throws Taiwan under the bus, that wouldn’t be the only betrayal involved. We’d be screwing Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Australia too. I’m not saying we should get into a shooting war over Taiwan. I am saying Trump shouldn’t betray our allies, our values, and our national security and national honor just because he’s got a man crush on Xi.

@ImBreckWorsham @johnrich The stupidity is truly astounding. Climate change that make once colder areas more moderate and more susceptible to these ticks expanding their territory? No, it’s a “bio-weapon” created to sell vaccines! 😂😂😂 It’s amazing you people can even feed yourselves.

The plan is to get everyone sick from bio-engineered ticks that make it impossible for you to eat meat, without getting violently ill. Then, they'll offer you a vaccine. Why is this not considered domestic terrorism?
TFTC@TFTC21

A peer-reviewed paper published last year in the journal Bioethics by two professors at Western Michigan University School of Medicine argues that it is "morally obligatory" to genetically engineer ticks to spread alpha-gal syndrome, a permanent condition that makes you violently allergic to red meat. The paper is called "Beneficial Bloodsucking." Their argument: if eating meat is morally wrong, then preventing the spread of a disease that forces people to stop eating meat is also morally wrong. Scientists should gene-edit lone star ticks to enhance their ability to carry alpha-gal syndrome and expand their range into urban environments to infect more people. They call this a "moral bioenhancer." They frame releasing genetically modified disease-carrying ticks as a "vaccination" that only "infringes" on your bodily autonomy rather than "violating" it. The distinction, apparently, is that a tick bit you instead of a government official holding you down. Alpha-gal syndrome is not mild. The CDC estimates up to 450,000 Americans are already affected. Cases have surged 100-fold in the last decade. Symptoms include anaphylaxis. There is no cure. Alpha-gal cases are exploding across the United States. The lone star tick's range is expanding far beyond its historical territory. And two academics at a medical school published a paper arguing this is a good thing that should be accelerated. At what point do we stop treating papers like this as fringe academic exercises and start asking whether anyone is already acting on them?

There’s a reason President Trump is respected by world leaders, and it’s because he’s consistently shown a level of strength that we haven’t seen from our Commander in Chief in modern history.

New: Senate Dems heaped praise on Fetterman this week, arguing their party needs to be more inclusive, especially if they want to win Senate control next year. Schumer called Fetterman a "strong advocate” for PA and a “valued Democrat in our caucus.” Schatz said he's “a good human and a good Democrat” Welch said his critics should "show some respect" “I wish the atmosphere [were] more collegial, and we don’t go after each other simply on our differences," Kim added

"I made mistakes, and for those, I'm sorry. Five years ago, I misled the Secretary of State when allowing a person to gain access to county voting equipment. That was wrong. I have learned and grown during my time in prison, and going forward, I will make sure that my actions always follow the law, and I'll avoid the mistakes of the past."

Donald Trump is about to turn Jan 6 criminals into MILLIONAIRES. With your tax dollars. The people who smeared feces on the Capitol walls… …hunted Mike Pence through the halls of Congress… …assaulted cops. He’s creating a $1.7 billion apology fund for them. Disgusting.
