@DougDunnEdS Let's say I want a job at pizza hut. I go in for training... Do they pay me?? YES. Unpaid internships leave out huge segments of society who can't afford to do one. If we want to see if anyone is any good for teaching we need to see how they do. Pay them for the work.

Student teachers should be paid (at least enough to pay rent)... you can't expect people to not be paid for a semester and think they can pay their bills. How many people just do not go into teaching because they can not afford to do free student teaching?
