Pre-pandemic I used to go Easter service with Queen Mom because she still took my grown-ass shopping and bought me 2 outfits with shoes!! Guess who got that fresh cut and now headed to the mall because Queen Mom gave me the card....

@Latina_Schatje I was teaching third grade in Chickasaw, AL and a dear friend came in, with a stunned look on her face, and said, "Terry, something horrible has happened..." Life was forever changed from that moment on.

Apparently my kid got in trouble today for PACKING OUR TOASTER IN HIS BACKPACK and pulling it out at lunch to make pop tarts for his class. I can’t stop laughing.

@brassoteach Alice Lewis, 3rd grade teacher at Lee E/S in Satsuma, AL. She was as tough as nails on me with all the loving and kindness at the same time. She's my Facebook friend today and I love her so much!

I've been "hungry" for this information for so long. I feel empowered to help ALL students become successful in literacy. Thanks to all who had a hand in providing this training opportunity to Alabama educators. #BaldwinProud @Alabama_Reading

Five leadership lessons magnified (not created) by the pandemic: 1. People first 2. Always being real > Always being right 3. Stay positive, but realistic 4. Pursue excellence, not perfection 5. Control the controllables

When modelling writing I go through a really clear structure each time: 1. Introduce ambitious vocabulary 2. Read and discuss WAGOLL 3. Shared write 4. Independent writing Here’s what the slides look like. One of the more bizarre model texts I’ve written, I won’t lie! 🙈💩😂

'...many first grade readers who struggle to master orthographic-phonological coding and read laboriously while they are doing so, may be more on track for becoming independent readers than readers who memorize words and disregard the alphabetic principle.' (Rayner et al., 2012)

PensGirl/Roxy Striblin💙🇺🇸Proud Police Mom
My son is a police officer and a darn good one! I have “police mom” listed in my bio. Someone told me I should get rid of that and I would gain more followers! I am very proud of my son. 💙Thoughts?
