@amiketo_mashiki @BetterDwelling If you bought real estate in 2016 - you are still very happy with your investment. Agreed that we need a reset - but don’t think the powers at be will allow one and herein lies the problem. Real estate gets protected. My stocks never get protected. 🤷‍♂️

@TeamNetworkUSA @BetterDwelling Problem is, RRE isn't a sound investment. It's crashed over 20% this year so far. Condos are now moving on to 30% the entire market needs a reset just like during the 1979-1984 partial or to '88 complete crash.

@amiketo_mashiki @BetterDwelling We didn’t have the same problem with mortgages defaults that the US did. But rest assured if we ever needed it they will. This is why residential real estate is a sound investment. Because the government always puts up the guard rails when things are softening too much.

@TeamNetworkUSA @BetterDwelling Thing is, Canada didn't bail out the real estate industry in '08. It bailed out the auto sector and financing tied to it. Which stopped contagion spillover which is what crashed the market in the US and Europe.

@amiketo_mashiki @BetterDwelling With regards to the real estate industry we certainly did in 2008. The government will do everything in their power to protect homeowners and values. It’s the voting base and they have always done the same thing. Not saying it’s right or fair - but it is reality.

@amiketo_mashiki @BetterDwelling The values are back to pre pandemic. If they deflate another 5-10% that is not a crash. It’s an over correction which will then be followed by the healthy annual appreciation of 5%. You’re dreaming if you think values will come down another 50%

At this point I'm not sure you even understand nationally the market has crashed 20% and that debt is still on. Along with the co-signers who owe money.

Power of sales are up dramatically and cleaning out the silly buyers who bought during COVID and thought interest would stay at 0% forever. That cohort is coming to an end. Majority of owners are fine and stabilization up next
