IS THIS THE END OF FREE SOCIAL MEDIA?
TechCrunch just reported that Meta is now charging for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
Here’s a breakdown👇
$3.99 a month gets you things like extra profile customization and story insights on Instagram and Facebook.
$2.99 for WhatsApp Plus, which gives you themes, custom ringtones, more pinned chats and some other personalization features.
They’re also building out AI plans under something called Meta One, with tiers at $7.99 and $19.99 for more advanced AI features across their apps.
The free versions still remain accessible for now, but I’m sure you can see where this is heading.
The world is slowly becoming fully subscription based and before long you’ll have to pay to access every damn thing on the internet.
Makes you wonder what free will even mean online in 10 years.

Sent my account details to a client.
Client: “If you don’t mind me asking… how do you have a bank account in Oklahoma? 😄”
Me I’m in Lagos o😭😭
Went on to talk about @RaenestApp and how it works.
So yeah, apparently I bank in Oklahoma now lol

The only problem with this (using NOR) is that you won’t be able to complete your ID checks after OSCE, which means No pin (UK license), which in turn means you can’t get a job.
That certificate is very very important.

@Bs_Alade @TechWithObinna A thread promoting mtn with their recent bullshit network??
No offense to the person posting for them, but I'd rather they fix their network, than give unlimited plans that I wont be able to use.

UPDATE!!
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS, I’VE NOT SPENT MORE THAN 40,000 NAIRA ON DATA IN A MONTH!!!🔥🔥
For context, I usually spend anywhere between 80 - 100k/month
MTN launched a speed based “unlimited” data plan and I’ve spent the past month testing!
Thread incoming 🧵

So apparently MTN rolled out an uncapped unlimited plan for its 5G routers back in November. But is it truly unlimited? We’ll see. Back in a month!
