Eli Lilly has done it. They've gone and made what seems to be a powerful, permanent gene therapy for LDL cholesterol. That means they'll be able to effectively prevent most heart disease with a single infusion!

@NiallHarbison How sweet! Here’s a photo of our pup, Khloe soon to be 16 years old. Another photo of our daughter who was bitten in the face by a pit bull mix. His owner is a friend and had no idea the pup was violent.

No Thats absolutely not what they were bred for They were infact bred for protecting livestock and young children in the wilderness and they excelled at both The first dog to ever earn the American medal of valor was a wwi bull terrier Pit bull is a pseudonym that criminal gamblers thrust on these beasts, not an illusion towards their origins

Pit bulls were bred for strength and dog-fighting, not human aggression. Bite statistics are unreliable because “pit bull” is often misidentified, and larger dogs naturally cause more serious injuries. Environment, training, abuse, and ownership are far better predictors of aggression than breed alone.

A 50-year-old woman in Brevard County, Florida, named Jodi Cowan was reportedly walking with her small dog when two pit bulls attacked her. According to the reports and her husband’s account: Her husband, Donnell Smith, had just returned home after helping neighbors. He noticed his wife and their small dog were missing, then heard her screaming for help in the distance. When he ran toward the screams, he said he saw the two dogs dragging his wife down the road into the grass. He tried to fight the dogs off with a knife while also trying to stop her bleeding. He called 911, and she was airlifted to a hospital, but later died from her injuries. The husband and neighbors reportedly said the dogs had a history of aggressive behavior and had terrorized the neighborhood before the attack. The story has gone viral because of the horrifying details and the husband’s emotional statements about witnessing the attack and never being able to “get that image out of my mind.” It isn't all of them....but it is always them.

@BritsB4Boats @benonwine But you don't get dickheads getting a golden retriever to look "hard" and then abusing it cos they're not responsible dog owners. Most fatal dog attacks have a history of abuse or neglect.

Absolutely horrific. Jodi Cowan, 50, was dragged to her death by two pit bulls in Florida while her longtime partner desperately tried to save her life. Donnell Smith said he returned home around 1am and realised Jodi had gone out walking their small dog. Moments later, he heard faint screams for help. He ran outside and says he saw two dogs dragging the woman he had loved for more than 25 years down the road. When he reached her, Jodi was lying in a pool of blood with devastating bite wounds across her body. Smith said the dogs came back again and tried to drag her away as he fought them off while trying to stop the bleeding. “I pulled my knife out… trying to stop her from bleeding,” he told WESH. Jodi was airlifted to hospital but later died from her injuries. And honestly, the most heartbreaking part is hearing her partner say: “I’ll never get that image out of my mind.” No human being should ever die like that. People always say “it’s the owner, not the breed” but after stories like this, many ordinary people are asking how many more people have to die before something changes. Serious question…. If a dog breed is capable of dragging a grown adult to their death… Should ordinary people still be allowed to own them?
