If a nation has a government, there is nothing wrong with the citizens of that nation electing officials, so long as those officials have extraordinarily limited powers. The nation's constitution and enforcement of that constitution would have to be much stronger than the US's, and there must be a separation of commerce and state written in it very clearly. Such a constitution must have limited ambiguity, and the powers of legislature must defined to only the powers granted in that constitution. Also, term limits for lawmakers and a mechanism of mandatory law deletion.

@MissJilianne I am an advocate for small business owners, however there are places where businesses can be allowed to do business. They aren't allowed to set up shop wherever they so please as seen here, like along Hollywood Boulevard. It is absurd that this has been allowed to happen.

As a Democrat, I can admit I’ve been voting wrong. Look what Mayor Karen Bass has allowed to happen to Hollywood Boulevard. It’s not only disgusting, it’s an embarrassment. It’s much worse than the picture depicts.

@philosophymeme0 He says, "good thing = communism and bad thing = capitalism" while running in a forest like a dweeb to look like a self-improvement commie when almost all aren't, and indeed would rather leech off the capital of those who accumulated wealth than earn it themselves.

@BoredElonMusk A contrast between the dystopian hell that exists and what could have been: a clean and orderly street and sidewalk. The only thing standing between is government and the government's mismanagement and neglect of the people and public spaces.

Insanely clever marketing. It’s a water stencil so what they’re doing is power washing the sidewalk and creating the words with the dirt that remains.

Fellow white people. You can split the US population and share it with ONE other race. • Whites will be 50%. • Whoever you choose will be the remaining 50%. Which way, western man?

The shareholders including but not limited to ordinary people who own 401(k)s (retiree workers and non-retiree workers), employees who own shares, executives of the business, etc. Also employees who otherwise wouldn't have a job without Amazon, employees who prefer Amazon as their primary employer vs other employers, employees who started from the bottom at Amazon and rose through the ranks, early Amazon employees, etc. This list is far from exhaustive. We are also all better off by simply having access to an incredible service: Amazon.

Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.
Chris | Venture X Media@thecoachchris_

Facts It's great that Jeff Bezos thinks this way, because too many people who don't make money think that giving money to the government will solve a lot of their problems. They think these government programs are the answer, and it's clearly not. You can look at the federal level or at the state level, and you will see that a lot of government programs are simply waste.

A basic analysis shows that zeroing out federal taxes for the bottom half the USA would help millions, have minimal impact on tax receipts & add over $100 billion to the economy. It's easy to check this yourself with @grok & similar, great of @JeffBezos to highlight.

Jeff Bezos explains to @AOC how billionaires are created: providing at least a billion dollars in value to society -- the opposite of exploitation. Bezos: "Let me give you a simple example. Let’s say you start a burger joint, and you have 10 employees, and you make a little bit of money.” SORKIN: “Right.” Bezos: “Until you have — this is — this just one — one outlet. And by the way, these are the most delicious burgers in the world. People love your burgers, Andrew. And so then, you open a second outlet —” SORKIN: “Right.” Bezos: “— and now you’re making a little bit more money, and you have 20 employees. Nd you open a third outlet. By the time you’ve opened a thousand outlets, you are a billionaire.” SORKIN: “Right.” Bezos: “And by the way, this is a real life story, it happens all the time, it’s In-N-Out Burger, it’s Raising Cane’s Chicken. At what point did that money all of a sudden become unethical, or it didn’t? There was one outlet, and then there were two, and then there were three. What you’re doing — the way — the way you make a billion dollars, or a hundred million dollars, or 10 million dollars, or anything, is you create a service that people love. And if millions of people choose your service, you’re going to end up with a billion dollars.” SORKIN: “Right.” Bezos: “And you can, you know, just try it with a chicken franchise.” SORKIN: “Do you think though —” Bezos: “But your chicken has to be good.”

@JoeDaichendt @JeffBezos How's he responsible for creating homelessness when he's created millions of jobs and wealth for those who otherwise wouldn't have those jobs or wealth? On top of that, an amazing service is provided: Amazon which I use often. It saves hours a week. That's what wealth reflects.

NAILED IT: Jeff Bezos: “A nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year pays more than $12K a year in taxes. Does that really make sense?” “So people talk about making the tax system more progressive. How about we start by having the nurse in Queens NOT pay taxes? At all!” “Why is a nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year paying more than $1K a month in taxes?” “That’s $1K a month that could help with rent or groceries or anything.” “And by the way, do you know what that all adds up to? The bottom half of income earners in this country pay only 3% of the taxes. It’s only 3%.” “We can find 3%. So we don’t have... it’s a small amount of money for the government. You know that. And the more I thought about it, to me, it’s kind of absurd that we’re doing this.” “We shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington — they should be sending her an apology. It really makes no sense.” Exactly!

Milton Friedman on why government subsidies for colleges are a total scam: “We impose taxes on everybody, including those who don’t go to college, in order to subsidize people who do go to college.” “There’s no social program which is so clearly a case of imposing taxes on low income groups to benefit high income groups as government subsidy to higher education.”
