Both corporates sides talk to each other about pricing and availability. They both talked about that people are going to buy gta 6 digitally. Its a very cold calculated move.

The war is with digital rights ownership with digital games not with physical games. The quicker people realize the faster we can get a law or edit an already existing law to help us.

The backlash PlayStation got when they announced that the PS3/PS Vita PlayStation Stores would be closing back in 2021 got them to reverse course, or should I say delay it, as they will now be closing soon. This backlash is larger, so I think there is a chance we see them reverse again or delay the inevitable 🤔

@JMaine518 Not the same its a flip of a switch for digital goods on a store on ps3 and vita. They spent 30 million by repurposing the factory to manufacture optical microlenses instead of bluray disc. They also changed contracts. They physically cant restart everything the next day.

I’ve had a PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS4 pro, PS5 and PS5 pro,
This didn’t make me buy a PC. Seeing them port their games to PC is what made me buy my PC. I was still going to buy a PS6 because PlayStation has been my favorite platform for a long time, but honestly, I don’t like the direction the company is taking. I’m probably going to ride it out with my Pro next gen and that will probably be my last console.

@ItZrefleX_96 @xMBGx Im talking about multiplayer games for the most part. They have to start all over in alot of multiplayer games. There is a reason why people have 1 phone usually. They are locked in the ecosystem. That one person usually only have a ps5. no pc no xbox.

That’s an arrogant mindset that will get them in a lot of trouble.
PlayStation is not Apple people would absolutely leave PlayStation because gaming machines are not like phones. Most people rarely have two phones, while many people rock multiple gaming platforms. Someone can switch to PC or Xbox and still keep their PS5 to access their old library they ain’t forced to sell it and abandon the library.
And between frequent steam sales and CD keys, building your library isn’t an issue. I think your overestimating how hard switching to another platform would be.

@IGN Taking away physical discs is the final straw. If I can't own my games, I’m abandoning PlayStation and switching to PC. Sony is going to learn the hard way when their player base drops.

It’s not showing physical sales of software, it’s showing how much each user spends on the platform. If people leave over this, that also has to be factored in because it’s a much bigger hit to revenue and a significant risk.
Sony never set a target for PS6. Even if they don’t plan to grow they obviously would like to retain every single customer because each customer loss is a significant amount of revenue loss.
Them saying they ain’t taking a loss on PS6 just means they ain’t selling for a loss. That doesn’t mean they’re profiting off of it. They still need to retain users. Not retaining users is a huge failure in their eyes.

If people leave, it’s going to be harder to milk existing customers because that’s still a substantial loss. If they raise prices 10%, that doesn’t cover the whole loss of other users leaving the platform, the math will never add up.
Again, I understand the goal, but this is harming that goal. The console won’t sell at a profit as it’s projected to cost $960 to build, so raising the prices won’t cover lost users.
Imo they will see a huge downtrend to start the PS6 gen and the second half will be spent trying remedy that and win users back.

The GTA 6 physical version:
- No disc
- No map
- Costs $80
- One retailer said only 11 people pre-ordered it
Rockstar really needs to rethink this and release a disc version later if they want to prevent leaks at launch, before Sony stops disc production all together in 2028.

Every big publisher EA capcom 2k sony mircosoft all them have 80 percent or more in digital revenue. The battle is lost. Not the war. A law needs to be past to protect digital.

@VGNewsNow They wont listen we gave up physical ownership since ps4. You had to copy the game to the hard drive and the disc would not spin every second. Only spin sometimes to check if you had the game. Its drm. Than ps5 digital than ps5 pro. They was slowly conditioning us. Its too late.
