I'm glad that California's request for a federal Emergency Declaration has been granted to mitigate the hazardous chemical incident in Garden Grove. This incident threatens the health and safety of tens of thousands of families, and federal resources must be deployed immediately to keep our communities safe.

If you give a politician $5 to influence a vote, it’s bribery. If billionaires spend $50 million to influence an election, it’s legal. That is what a corrupt campaign finance system looks like.

The Office of Government Ethics has been operating without a permanent director for more than a year after Trump fired the previous head of the office — effectively kneecapping the agency. No wonder there's been an explosion of corruption within the administration.

Hard work used to mean something: you work hard, you got ahead. Now, it feels like your hard work is paying off for someone else. Families can't afford groceries, prescriptions, or housing. I’m fighting to change that by putting money back in your pockets.

Trump sued his own IRS. Settled with his own government. Secured a $1.8 billion slush fund to siphon toward his allies. Blocked the IRS audits against himself and his family.  This is corruption in plain sight.

There's a pattern in this administration to punish or fire anyone who asks questions. The Secretary of Defense even had Anthropic branded a national security risk. This kind of decision-making could put our servicemembers in greater danger.

My thoughts are with the Gabbard family as they face this difficult diagnosis, and I wish them strength in the days ahead.   But let’s be clear: Donald Trump must not treat this vacancy as another opportunity to reward loyalty over competence. The DNI’s job is to protect the American people with facts, judgment, and independence — not to launder conspiracy theories or tell the President what he wants to hear. Senate Democrats will fight any nominee who puts Trump’s politics ahead of America’s security.
