@TeslaTopics v14 absolutely LOVES to stop in the middle of intersections like this. It's hard to remember unprotected lefts that it succeeds at.

This is the first time I’ve ever had to take over with a critical intervention in a long time. I have never experienced this kind of hesitation on a left turn before, even in earlier versions, where it would stop mid-turn and block the path of a car going straight. I hesitated to take over, thinking there was maybe someone crossing, but there wasn’t. What happened here @elonmusk @aelluswamy @Tesla_AI?

@verilumin Weird. I was thinking this was a nighttime problem. The fact it did it during the day is a bit scary.

@TeslaTopics Mine did this also. Daytime. It hesitated, went and stopped, wheel turned back and forth, and it put me in a dangerous position where it put me in the path of oncoming traffic. The only time it’s ever done that is this newest software. They need to fix this immediately!

@Dreamsky13 I thought about it, but was worried that there was something I didn’t see, like a pedestrian suddenly running across the road and didn’t want to hit them. So I took the safe route and just moved out of the way of the oncoming car until I could verify the way was clear.

@TeslaTopics I would have just hit the accelerator and forced it through.

@TonyMcTsla Yeah. I’m wondering what it was thinking. I wish I could see like a highlight of what it thinks it saw. I’m guessing it misjudged the trajectory of the oncoming car.

On 14.3.2 I've never had a situation where FSD stopped in the middle of a protected left turn like that. There have been plenty of situations where FSD has stopped for me without me immediately understanding why though (a roundabout comes to mind where a biker was making his way across and I missed it). You bring up an interesting point though. Many of us that have been using FSD for a long time have learned to not immediately take over during a "wtf" moment like this because of the fact that FSD is often correct. We need to be very careful that we don't get complacent in these situations. I can't help but wonder what the car would have done if you'd left it alone. Not saying you should have, because I would have taken over too, just curious.

@PedagogyGames It stopped blocking the closest lane, possibly thinking the car was in the furthest lane.

@TeslaTopics You'd think if the car thought it was in the furthest lane in the first place, it would have waited instead of starting the turn?

Yeah, for me, the times it’s done it was because a pedestrian ran across the road, or a guy on a bike just passed through my blind spot. This was the first time it happened where I hesitated to take over because I wasn’t sure if there was something that caused FSD to hesitate/stop that I didn’t see.

@TeslaTopics @DirtyTesLa 14.3.2 here. Never as bad as your experience, but there are times when I wonder why I’m not proceeding. (Like you, I hesitate to hit the accelerator in case I’m missing something). At other times FSD has no issue at all moving quickly before traffic arrives. Inconsistent.

@Guitar_444 @DirtyTesLa Really? Wow. This is the first critical intervention where I had to take over from a potentially dangerous situation since FSD 12.

@TeslaTopics @DirtyTesLa 14.3.2 has been doing this kind of crap consistently. It's no hesitant and paranoid, it sucks...

@navalarch0 It’s possible. I’m thinking FSD thought that the oncoming car was in the furthest lane at one point. I took a screen shot of when that happens.

@TeslaTopics I think the car coming from the opposite lane was going faster than the car assumed initially or accelerated even

@congressdj @DirtyTesLa Oh wow. It’s still doing it in 14.3.3? I’m wondering if it’s a perspective issue. At night, especially, it looks like the car is in the other lane at a certain point.

@TeslaTopics @DirtyTesLa This is exactly what 14.3.3 did within 30 seconds of my first drive on the build last Sunday. My drive was with me and it was my first critical disengagement in 10K miles. Hasn’t happened since. Nothing close. So weird.

@SawyerMerritt I have 14.3.2 and used it to go on a 19 hour road trip there and back and it was great. Mad Max was pretty good and managed to continue moving ahead and guessing the right lane to be in 90% of the time. What was changed between 14.3.2 and 14.3.3?

Tesla FSD V14.3.3 just started rolling out, and it comes with the Spring Update! Actually Smart Summon’s top speed has also been increased to 8 mph (from 6 mph)! Downloading it on my Model Y right now. Software version 2026.14.6.6.

@OverlyTrev It sometimes avoids potholes already, for some reason. Maybe it depends on its size and shape.

I’m going to get ridiculed for this but so be it 😂 I disengage from potholes all the time and I too want FSD to dodge them! However I have to back TeslaAI on this one. It clearly states in the release notes this is an “upcoming improvement” and it is not currently in the model. Expecting FSD to do something that is clearly listed as “Upcoming” Is just asking for situations like this to happen. I AGREE it should already be in there but it’s not and it’s listed as coming soon. I hope this gets fixed quickly for you though!

FSD v14.3.2 has been great so far except for this one weird instance where it tried to park here between these two cars. @aelluswamy any idea why that was happening?
