@thesundaysport Aussie made the pages Sunday Sport! Woohoo! We're very proud of our PM. Scratch that - what's the opposite of pride?

@AgentP22 So, @NicolaSturgeon is “stepping away” then! The majority of the electorate wishes she’d run away, years ago 🤨

On one level, there's the fact she'll have been getting paid and establishing residence here for her family and herself, plus the spouse and kids will be eating up welfare/public services at a rate. But there's no addressing the fraud industry that uses "NHS infinite resource requirements" to get paid or the staff that waved her through, it should be a critical incident with Gross Misconduct proceedings attached.

@Sargon_of_Akkad How are people “bluffing their way” into jobs in the NHS, what are we doing. Did they not do a background check.

Nice of her to turn up. She won't be missed, she was never in Holyrood anyway. Spent the last 2 years touring TV studios and book festivals. History will not judge her kindly.

Me on the Government’s latest attack on the countryside: “a government which is supposedly committed to growth is attacking one of the few growth industries in the rural economy which generates billions in income and employs tens of thousands of people” thetimes.com/uk/environment…

@LeftBrexit @MothinAli No, no, no! He's talking about the sheep. It's racist towards sheep to want to stop them from becoming Halal martyrs - even if it is painful. They will be rewarded with 70 veterinary surgeons, in heaven.

Your obsession with it is a racist dog-whistle, that's why no one takes you seriously. However this is the wrong Eid...

@MothinAli Thoughts on banning halal slaughter mate? Nobody from the 'Greens' seem keen to answer me on that?

@afneil We probably need a good old bond strike to get this incompetent shower out of office.

This is not good news given what will now happen to UK finances as a result of the war on Iran. And perhaps we can have some silence from all those who piled to exaggerate the significance of January’s freak figures. The UK borrowed a higher than expected £14.3bn in February. The shortfall between government spending and income was £2.2bn higher than in the same month a year ago and far above the £8.5bn forecast by economists polled by Reuters. At a time of peril for nation’s finances it is frightening to have R Reeves as Chancellor.

@HCH_Hill I wonder if they could push back those 22% pay awards to junior doctors and train drivers - see if they can use that money to build some ships?

@BenRamanauskas BofE are consistently 6 months behind the curve. Most of their decisions are reactionary rather than developmental. Pretty much your average broadsheet reader could say hold rates this week - but where will we be in the September. BofE are not on it!

People ask what Labour has actually done. Try telling a renter facing a no-fault eviction that ending Section 21 doesn’t matter. Try telling a struggling family that breakfast clubs don’t matter. Some of us know these things change lives because we’ve lived it.

@ramonagusta When the inflation figures for March come out (in May), I fully expect Liz Truss to be cited as the blame for it!

Whole bunch of conservative Catholic commentators, having a go at @ArchbishopSarah about abortion. Followed by a whole bunch of conservative @churchofengland commentators having a go at them for having a go. Well both miss the moral political issue. In a modern democracy, laws should be shaped by the people, not by clerical office or religious privilege. Christians have a right & duty to speak, to challenge, to provoke conscience. That’s part of a free society. But when bishops in the House of Lords move from voice to vote, that’s both immoral and anti-Christ whose teaching on power is quite clear. Faith can guide. Faith can inspire. But faith leaders should not legislate. We don’t need to silence bishops. We just need to draw a line: 👉 voice, not vote. Bishops can preach. Parliament should decide. #BishopsOut @NatSecSoc @Humanists_UK

Have received word that the Bishops of Winchester and Norwich are not attending Parliament to vote against ABORTION UP TO BIRTH due to unspecified "diary commitments". This is extremely disappointing.
