This explains the laundry room fire. Trump elaborates at length that an Iranian swarm attacked “the largest aircraft carrier,” Gerald Ford, w drones/missiles that came in from “17 sides.” As such, fully explaining why the carrier will be out of commission for 1-2 years. No mention was made of aircraft hit, though it sounds likely from his description of the intensity.

🚨 Trump’s “92-year-old Mr. Toyoda who owns 92% of Toyota” story is getting fact-checked hard — and it’s not holding up cleanly.
Here’s exactly what Trump said during his Japan trip (late October 2025):
“I met Mr. Toyoda… I said, ‘What do you have to do with Toyota?’ He said, ‘I own it.’ … He owns 92%. I said, ‘You didn’t have to be that specific.’ But you’re rich… Then he agreed to invest $10 billion in the U.S. and build new plants all over.”
The facts:
- The legendary Shoichiro Toyoda (son of the founder) died in February 2023 at age 97. Not alive, not 92.
- Akio Toyoda (current Chairman, grandson of the founder, former long-time CEO) is 69–70 years old (born May 1956). He briefly spoke with Trump at a U.S. Embassy event, but Toyota executives say investment talks did not come up in that conversation.
- Toyota itself quickly pushed back: They did not make a new, specific $10 billion pledge to Trump. A senior executive (Hiroyuki Ueda) clarified that the $10 billion figure likely referred to ongoing/planned investments discussed in the context of Trump’s first term or general commitments — not a fresh deal announced during this meeting. Toyota has continued making large U.S. investments (including a broader multi-year plan that later included $1B+ tranches in Kentucky and Indiana), but they emphasized it’s business as usual, not a dramatic new Trump-brokered windfall.
Trump loves colorful storytelling and big-number announcements to project deal-making strength — it’s his signature style. Critics call it embellishment or outright lying (“serial liar”). Supporters say it’s loose salesman talk: he’s highlighting pressure on Japan to invest more in America, and Toyota is expanding U.S. production under trade/tariff realities.
The core point stands: Toyota has poured billions into American plants and jobs for decades (they employ tens of thousands of U.S. workers). Whether the exact $10B was newly promised in that chat or repurposed from existing plans, the direction is more manufacturing on U.S. soil — something Trump has pushed aggressively.
This is classic Trump: hyperbolic anecdote mixed with real policy outcomes (tariffs, trade pressure leading to onshoring). It drives his base wild with “winning” vibes, while media and opponents treat every flourish as a gotcha.
At the end of the day, America benefits from Japanese companies building cars here instead of importing everything. The age/ownership details were clearly off — that part is sloppy. But the bigger economic pressure campaign? Toyota keeps investing.
Raw takes only: Harmless showmanship to sell America First, or pattern of exaggeration that erodes trust? Does the story matter more than the actual investment trend? Drop unfiltered thoughts below. 🔥

@Rep_Stansbury They won't pay the TSA workers, yet they, the Maga Republicans, found time to welcome Russian officials and gave them a tour of our Capitol. RUSSIANS who are helping Iran in this war, btw. Republicans are useless for the American people.

It’s midnight. And, we’re here at the capital after House Republicans REFUSED to call up a unanimous Senate bill that would have funded TSA, FEMA, and Coast Guard, ended the shutdown, and paid our federal workers. But, instead, they chose to keep it shut down!
Here’s the latest—along with some very, very good news amidst the chaos!
