Going into the LCMS Synodical Convention in July, Committee 6 has the most Overtures (88) [up from 47 in 2023). The next closest is Committee 4 (56). There are 374 total Overtures. Nearly a quarter of Overtures are to the Committee on Pastoral Ministry and Seminaries.

@TexianPa That seems like a lot. I have nothing to compare that with. I pray the results reflect a pastoral formation based less on current business models/trends and more on an ancient, times less faith that's meant to exist faithfully for the rest of time

@Lasz_l It’s really anyone’s guess. I do not who is on the committee so I don’t know what the range of perspectives is/will be. I know a large portion of the overtures revolve around the SMP (from ALL ‘sides’) so I am hopeful that the Floor will have the opportunity to iron that out.
