@zerohedge Yet we have always been told that Gold was the ultimate storage of wealth. And at these prices, Gold can no longer be used in a barter system when things go really south.

@realyourhedge @chrismartenson Manufactured oil shortage bring inflation up. Then can start bringing up the inflation numbers that get disclosed in release of numbers. High reported inflation can be blamed on oil/war as they normalize the real inflation numbers. This oil/war deal is like Putins Price Hikes

@chrismartenson Great question, and why do we need to go to war in order to open the Strait, when the Strait was open prior to US and Israel starting a war? Make it make sense please.

Has anyone else noticed 🤔
Since the Fed started engaging in Reserve Management Purchases and acquiring Treasury Bills 🔵 again in December, the reported volumes in overnight SOFR financings 🟣 have somewhat declined
Conversely, when the Fed did RMPs back in 2019, the reported SOFR volumes increased

@SilverApeKing The moment people stop trusting the currency, they do not wait for devaluation, they rush into anything that cannot be created at will.

It really is that simple... we're re-running the 1970s stagflation playbook on steroids. It's an energy shock, compounded by an industrial materials shock, and soon to be compounded by a food supply crisis.
This is all going to eat into a consumer wallet already ravaged by five years inflation, like a giant tax on the economy that sucks purchasing power out of thin air.
Oh, and the top 10% that's kept the economy afloat on the wealth effect? Kiss that goodbye, too.
It's a recipe for a global recession.
What will work? Own the things that are in shortage, and short everything else. Don't overcomplicate it.

Markets don't bottom until the Strait of Hormuz re-opens. I think it might be that simple.

@BankerWeimar Two other great period sailing movies worth watching...
1. Mutiny On The Bounty. Marlin Brando version 1962.
2. Damn The Defiant. Alec Guiness version 1962.
Most versions of both have been remastered to hi def.
