Reading @Trentonian news on indictment of Trenton's Martin Moore. Always push for answers from government, especially when @gusciora's thuggish security guard puts his hands on reporter to restrain him from getting answers the public should know.

President Biden is a patriot who has served our country honorably in the Senate, as Vice President, and as one of the most consequential presidents in modern history. President Biden has gotten an incredible amount done to move our country forward, defend our democracy, and protect real freedom. I am proud to work by his side and am grateful for his leadership and his unwavering commitment to delivering for Pennsylvania — the Commonwealth that raised him.

Asking politicians if they want OPRA to have teeth is like asking a teenager if they want a curfew--of course most don't. Involving the public in governing comes with accountability, questions, criticism, etc. But it's OUR govt and we deserve to be involved & see what it's up to

A look at the Rogue's Gallery of Nj mayors who are urging @GovMurphy to sign the gestapo-insired "reform" of NJ public records law. A tip of the hat to @CJGriffinEsq, the atty/hero pressing for transparency. nj.com/opinion/2024/0…

Despite overwhelming public outcry, the NJ Legislature passed legislation to gut OPRA. Now it's up to @GovMurphy to #ProtectOPRA. Call the Governor at 609-292-6000 and ask him to veto S2930/A4045.

NEW: Nearly 100 organizations from across NJ, including labor unions, social and racial justice groups, and pro-democracy advocates call for @GovMurphy to veto a bill that decimates the OPRA law. Read the full letter ⬇️

It’s ironic that these lawmakers come from the party that talks about “small government” & “law and order,” yet they voted for a bill that makes it significantly harder for the public to see how our $ is spent. And they are doing so bc a bunch of lawbreaking agencies complained

There's an Op-Ed on Save NJ by two Assemblymembers about "OPRA abuse," rebutted here w/o linking. This propaganda is so easily debunked, which is why the only way they can get it in print is via an op-ed. It's hard to believe they're still out there spewing this stuff

We're still calling @GovMurphy to urge him to veto this bill. It's nothing more than a cloak of secrecy for public officials and a perversion of our state OPRA law. Many legislators who advanced this billl hold local public jobs and have a conflict of interest.

OPRA *is* a cost-saving law. Transparency allows us to see how our dollars are spent, and to weigh in. It curbs corruption and waste If you want to save money, tell agencies to comply with the law so there will be no lawsuits. And, expand OPRA so we can monitor even more

Casual reminder that the overwhelming majority of OPRA requests are for property records--people purchasing homes (i.e. future property tax payers) who need to check for open permits, violations, etc Put those online & you cut OPRA requests by 50%+--no need to gut transparency!
