@zoeselesi @SantanaFilmss Standard IMAX there is fine as a back-up, but the full-sized IMAX at Lincoln Center is worth making the effort for.

English

@zoeselesi That location always crashes when event film presale tix go on sale. It's very annoying.

@ColbySteffens @degeneratewar @orsonshux Pacing/streamlining the narrative. Having to change buildings slowed things down and made it more complicated than it needed to be, presumably. Less of a feeling of being trapped within the citadel/vault if they can leave easily afterwards and then break into a second location.
English

@degeneratewar @orsonshux WHY’D THEY TAKE THIS OUT!!!!!????? 😭 (them running towards the AT-ACT is so freaking cool)

@CanadianZar @Wario64 Why would they do it? Because they’ve done it before. Their hardware was known for their “Nintendium” durability. Only thing close to stick drift was the N64 sticks (and those have a “gen 1” excuse).
Meanwhile my Day 1 GCN controller’s stick lasted 20+ years & 4 hardware gens.
English

Why would Nintendo set up their consumers with a controller that never has issues, why would any company that makes a console?
They know it happens and they want it too. They want you to buy new joycons or pro controllers. They don’t want to give the consumer 0% stick drift because it would cost them way more money that way. Plus the price would increase too.

Switch 2 Joy-Con Will Not Feature Hall Effect Sticks nintendolife.com/news/2025/04/i…
"Joy-Con 2's controllers have been designed from the ground up. They're not Hall Effect sticks, but they feel really good."

@BaronDestructo While it doesn’t have as many classic episodes as, say, Season 4, I’ve always felt Season 9 was the strongest one end-to-end. Building dread against an enemy that you couldn’t just disprove to their followers by simply removing a mask, pressing a button, or pulling a trigger.

@Lxx09391215 @geekritique_dak That almost works- though you'd have to assume Trump ran in 2014 (or at least during the Republican primary) and lost (thus the Luke Cage comments).
English

@The2ndQuest @geekritique_dak Just a theory I've been pondering today, but the MCU elections actually make perfect sense if you bring them all forward 2 years.
2007-2010: Obama
2011-2018: Ellis
2019-2022: Trump
2023-2026: Ritson
2027: Ross

I have yet to see Captain America: Brave New World (and I’m cool with that). But I’ve seen this pic floating around. I don’t know the full context, but as a timeline geek, this is part of the reason I’ve become so averse to making MCU Timeline content lately.
It has become startlingly obvious since the Disney+ timeline began adding titles into the mix that they have no true clue or care about creating a coherent timeline, and more often than not it becomes a game of “well it fits best here, so we either ignore this date, or we ignore that quote, because characters x, y, and z are doing this…”
This is BAD timeline management. The people in charge of the MCU’s timeline do not care. This picture, which lists a day and date for instance: April 16, 2027 does NOT land on a Thursday. This is the easiest possible thing to look up as a prop designer, a writer, a production manager, a timeline coordinator (anyone with any say on what makes it into a frame such as this). But this happens SO OFTEN in the MCU when there’s a day and date combo, where they rarely ever match.
Either they’re making purposely obtuse timeline choices to throw off people like myself, or they truly do not care. And after the official MCU timeline book from 2023, it’s become abundantly clear it’s the latter and that they’re shooting in the dark when it comes to the timeline.
As someone who’s studied every date in this fictional universe, every moon phase, every calendar, every character’s age, every quote about time and season, for over a decade now, it’s impossible not to see the massive cracks in the armor. They stopped caring about this aspect of their universe a long time ago, and are now just trying to trudge their way over to another Endgame level success. And sure. I COULD make a semi-coherent attempt at trying to bridge all these titles together, but I can tell they don’t care, so it is no longer a joy for me. It is a chore.
Anyway, I should have my MCU Timeline v8.0 out sometime this year. 🤷🏻♂️

@challengerST @DEADLINE Or she’s in her 70’s and is making realistic long term plans for someone working at that age.

Kathleen Kennedy sat down with Deadline’s Mike Fleming to talk about her Lucasfilm Plans and the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ films.
“The truth is, and I want to just say loud and clear, I am not retiring. I will never retire from movies... What’s happening at Lucasfilm is I have been talking for quite some time with both Bob and Alan about what eventual succession might look like. We have an amazing bench of people here, and we have every intention of making an announcement months or a year down the road...”

@fandommenacene1 @SothManigan @CultureCrave And I guess you’ll continue to be able to take a t-shirt from 8 years ago out of context. So, congrats on that.
English

@The2ndQuest @SothManigan @CultureCrave Well then Star Wars will continue to suck balls way to go Kathleen keeping sexism alive and well
English

Kathleen Kennedy says she is not retiring
"I will never retire from movies. I will die making movies"
• She's producing several upcoming Star Wars projects
• Has started talking with Disney about a succession plan and it could be a year before a decision is announced
• Will stay at Lucasfilm to assist whoever takes over
(via @Deadline)

English

@SothManigan @CultureCrave Not a contradiction- she would remain on board to help guide her replacement for several years to a decade, in addition to continuing to produce the projects she’s already involved in.
English

@CultureCrave >Is not retiring
>Is naming replacement within the year
English

@geekritique_dak @A_ALeeder Yeah, I think it’s a result of changes made in the edit altering the setting (ie: the 5 months stuff involving the reshot Serpent content) and not updating those changes to the printed invite insert shot.
English

@A_ALeeder @The2ndQuest This only works if there’s a one-off line suggesting as much. As such, there is no explanation and is a mistake until retconned.
English

@geekritique_dak Yeah, the timeline notes I recall are 6 months after an election, 2 years since Bradley was acquitted, and Sam and Joaquin working together for 3 years.
English

@The2ndQuest I’ve heard that, yeah. I have yet to see the film, so I didn’t want to jump to any conclusions.
