No, they go to the same three cities and the same tourist trap spots featured on TikTok. If you want a good time in Japan, I encourage you to go off the beaten path. A few normie destinations are fine, but you're not seeing anything novel millions of others haven't already.

@GodotIsW8ing4U I've been trying Sorcery lately, and they use a split deck system, one of lands one for everything else. But they have some interesting mechanics of physically building out a 5x4 board using said lands, and you need to pick which deck you draw from at the start of turn

@GodotIsW8ing4U The DBS system was?/is? interesting to me because it is ACAR but you gotta keep your cards face up, as the type of card you use as a resource dictates the type of mana it provides. The more I played SWU, the less interesting I found their ACAR system

A lot of new TCGs do a sort of "any card as resource" (ACAR) bit. Magic famously has lands which are your resource cards, and so Magic decks need to have a certain amount of lands, leading to mana screw/flood, which feels bad.
I think lands suck but are still better than ACAR.

@ChrisRGun This is my own shortcoming, but reading a 3/10 makes me think that there is something wrong with the game on a pure technical level, actual short comings on the execution rather than a personal distaste for the genre. But a 2/5 rating wouldn't do that. I think I'm just dumb

You can have preferences but few games that release now are actually bad. Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy, and Persona are 3/10 games for me. They’re also obviously no less than good.
MindsEye, Gollum, and 12 Minutes are probably the worst games in recent memory imo

Had a splendid and productive day trip in Hiroshima! Lot of good signs that I’ll potentially do business and move here next year, but we’ll see.
Kind people, beautiful scenery, great food. One of Japan’s most underrated destinations, no doubt. Will be back soon!

Daughter came up with an idea to get us in better shape and that’s to do 10 bodyweight squats after using the bathroom. Being well hydrated that means like 100 squats a day. So far we are keeping it up!
