Trust me, if you're looking to become a first time EV owner, the Model Y is your best pick. Sporty. Capable. Spacious. And it actually gets better the longer you own it through free software updates. No other car in this price range gives you this much. Once you own a Tesla, you'll never miss your old car. Are you ready to make the switch to a Model Y?

@alex_avoigt In the US midwest, it gets cold, really cold. I've had my MYp get to a max range of only 150 miles. 120 if I drive fast. Significantly less if you keep the battery in the 20-80% range. "Range" wouldn't be an issue if the vehicle got 310 in all usecases.

The BMW iX3 and iX are examples of how little the company still understands about BEVs. A very large battery means that in 99.99% of cases, when long distances aren't being driven, an unnecessary amount of weight is being carried around, which is inefficient and expensive. Since a large battery naturally takes longer to charge, even with fast charging speeds, the supposedly advantageous feature of a long range is worthless, because you simply end up spending more time charging and if you take shorter charging stops you could have been more efficient with a smaller battery. To everyone claiming they want to drive 1,000 km without a break: studies show that people with such a strong bladder are rare. And if your family is coming along, forget it. Such cases are so rare that it makes no sense to develop a vehicle for them. Both vehicles are fundamentally flawed in their design and are only suitable for people who, as ICE owners, have been falsely instilled with fear for years that BEVs supposedly don't have enough range or that there aren't enough charging stations—both of which are lies perpetuated by the oil and gas industry.

Biggest "the kids are fucked" moment I've had recently was buying a car Walked into the dealership, told them what I wanted and said I'd pay up-front. Expected them to be thrilled Instead they were horrified. Spent the next 20 minutes trying to get me to finance it at some absurd rate Got me curious so after I left I read about car sale profit models. Apparently most US dealerships make more financing now than from the cars themselves I was such a boomer I assumed they'd want CASH In reality they want your ETERNAL SLAVERY at 19% APR

@JamesRLandrum @jasonEVadvocate @brandenflasch It's never actually negatively affected my driving or trips. It makes it to the superchargers fine. I don't drive far often anyway. That said I live in the north, on below 0 days or 90mph days you can look at range thats under 180 miles between charges. Thats significant loss.

164.5 miles 90-3%. Barely made it home. "But you dont need more range; Do you havr an iron bladder" - What a bunch of crap. Basically 165 miles in a car rated for 324 at the time of purchase new is and always will be pathetic. Yes - We absolutely need more range. @brandenflasch

US fertility rates just hit another record low In 2025, the US general fertility rate fell to 53.1 - the lowest level ever recorded Japan, South Korea, and Germany have already been shrinking for years. Japan has been shrinking for years, South Korea’s population has already started to decline, and Germany would be shrinking without immigration Now the UK joins them - deaths will outnumber births every single year starting in 2026 No economy grows without people No pension system survives without young workers No culture persists without families having children This is the slowest civilizational crisis in human history

@HazelAppleyard If you just plopped the million into an index fund, you’d have like 7 million in 20 years - you couldn’t do that with pushups you’d have to do like 900+ a day for 20 years to hit that number.

@DennisCW_ Supercharger value is vastly overstated here. The only possible way this makes sense is that your fully charging this car like... 8+ times a week and not once at home. Home charging is more convenient, and if you cant home charge don't buy an EV. It's worth maybe $50/mo, if that

@SgtNads @MoDOT The Stupid, It Burns. Hint, this doesn't happen in NZ because our drivers a) generally pay a bit more attention and b) will get fined and hit with licence demerit points if they're caught on the phone. Because your eyes should be on the fucking road you utter dipshit.

@SpaceXobsessed @Teslarati @CCMurray12 They all can, the cheaper ones usually do. LFPs are in other brands as well, but tesla has them on the lower range models. What's interesting is that those models at 100% are usually more than my performance at 80% (daily max)

@KatieMiller That is an utter misrepresentation. It means that solar could not even keep up with energy demand growth. Much less it is able to replace existing energy demand.

Solar met 75% of global electricity demand growth in 2025. Clean power covered all new demand, so fossil generation didn’t rise for the first time since 2020. Solar electricity is on track to become by far the biggest source of power.

@SchraderJo56657 @KatieMiller I know this is a joke but there's actually a real answer to this because electricity can be used to create artificial jet fuel and gasoline. It would be expensive but it's entirely possible to use solar to create synthetic jet fuel that's 100% carbon neutral

I will be building my own personal fleet of 25-50 Tesla Robotaxis one day. And I will prove to the world that I can generate ~$1,000,000 per year in passive income from it. I really think there is no other passive income vehicle like this on Earth - better than real estate. The Robotaxi opportunity is coming, I can feel it. And it’s going to level the playing field for everyday people like you and me, kinda like what Airbnb did to hotels. All the doubters, just wait and watch me prove it in real time. I’m so ready.
