I can understand rotating content in the Emporium, but honestly, putting "Time Limited" on it sounds more like you're trying to create a sense of urgency to buy it than alternative terms. Using something like "Seasonal" or "Current Rotation" lets people know it's coming back.

@Coppertailwolf Yeah LSS monthly but still deeds and now they’re even making fallen sea dog event related instead of permanent rewards. And with how they’ve handled doubloons from start to finish, I’m less than enthusiastic about the weekender, especially for those like me who work weekends too

@TheApps_ I believe they’ll be a returning event, not fomo just like any other events. (Gold and glory etc) otherwise it could die in a week. This keeps interest and people returning imo

Maybe a hot take, but imo this is a season a lot of us have been asking for. Sot can slow down for QoL updates. They’ve added TONS over last year for PVE, along with new weapons and tools. Hourglass has been neglected for years. This is the first season in a long time I’m genuinely excited for. Plus Last Ship Standing is incredible, the custom servers are being tested, Fight Nights, etc. Anyone who regularly hourglasses, competes or plays competitively should be embracing this season. It took awhile, but I’ll take the W for hourglass, and honestly just sick of hypocritical complaining. We take that win.

The Hourglass improvements really feel like they ‘complete’ 1v1 battles. Feels good to finally go back and begin expanding existing features.

@SeaOfThieves You guys suck. Rare actually made a good change to keep the high value of the doubloons cost but not punish those who spent a currency like you’re supposed to. No lifers will complain anyway.

@CTMiniManiac I actually really like the cosmetics and I’ll just echo everyone else that the sword outrageous. I need 20k more. Let’s not get the whole reason this is happening (apart from rare trying to find more ways to push fomo) is because THEY messed up the currency so WE get punished.

@Wermux They keep adding and adding more useless reskinned content over and over and let it rot. Even the systems they spent 2 years building weren’t expanded after 2023. They’re just getting to HG now. I don’t care about the same fetch quest different context crap they add

@ChappersChapman Time limited content you’re pushing really hard is a big turn off for me. It’s all you’re talking about and all s19 is now. It feels like a mobile game not the game you describe. Content you’re adding is not meaningful so you resort to fomo. Same with doubloons, all fomo events.

We talk A LOT when we record these podcasts, and it has to be edited down for time (otherwise players will miss key info). Could a more raw, long-form discussion have helped here in hindsight? Almost certainly. One we’ll reflect on for future podcasts.

@BowtieShyGuy I would be surprised if scores were a thing because then it would literally just be arena. But yeah there needs to be incentive to fight instead of waiting for the dust to settle

Didn't have the chance to play, only watch others play. Still felt better than HG by miles. There is still the issue of time where I wouldn't want a match to last 1 hour because the other person keeps running. Add a timer or make the circle actually punishable.
