Thirty years ago this month, I visited San Diego. I was abducted from my hotel parking garage by a complete stranger who r@ped me. I escaped by jumping out of a moving car. He stole my rental car, my purse and my dignity. The feeling of being violated is so profound & paralyzing that it never really goes away. There are people that believe they deserve to take what is yours, no matter what it is. We are experiencing this same kind of abuse, and have been for decades, from our so-called 'representatives.' We have lived through a cycle of constant abuse, being oppressed, stolen from, lied to- and with no means of pursuing justice. It's one big club, and we ain't in it. Will we ever get justice? Will there ever be accountability? Will we ever escape this never-ending cycle of abuse put onto us by our government? It's a soul-crushing place to be. And I'm tired. SO tired.

His returns were leaked by an employee of an accounting firm with access to the returns, not IRS staff or administrators. That person, Charles Littlejohn, pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to 5 years in jail.

More CAW bullshit @ChurchillDowns. The #7 horse in 3rd race was 3-to-1 when gates opened but dropped to 8/5 favoritism during course of the race and won rather easily. I'm really hoping these practices are exposed during whatever discovery takes place in class-action lawsuit.

Translation: We were a 23-1 long-shot to win the Derby and don’t think we would win the shorter track against a horse like Renegade again. So we will preserve our horse’s health — AHEM! “Value” — and get the max we can for future stud fees.
Gutless horse owners have killed this sport. They prioritize money over wins and legacy. She’s not the first, nor the last do this. It’s just destroyed this once insanely popular sport.

@JustinMacmahan The colts in front of him slowed down - some dramtically so - because they were physically spent. Golden Tempo did not slow down; his times stayed pretty constant, meaning he kept up his pace throughout. It's not that much different from tortoise and the hare parable.

I know so little about horse racing. Can someone please explain how the biggest underdog in the race (+8000) could gain this much ground in the final stretch? I remember thinking it made no sense at the time and I still don’t get it

@NBCSports, it’s called HORSE racing. Could you perhaps actually spend a little more time with the cameras on the horses? It’s very disappointing to tune into major race coverage and be denied paddock and post parade views in favor of talking heads.
