All of this was the perfect storm of insanity.
After gay marriage became legalized, and institutional homophobia largely became a thing of past times, special interest activist groups like Stonewall began to fervently search for the next "thing" to justify and perpetuate their continued existence (along with their millions in funding). This came in the form of 'trans rights'.
These groups were then propelled by the typical social justice crusaders whose entire existence is framed in the feeling of 'fighting oppressors', alongside the likes of so-called 'intersectional feminists'. With all of these sort's past legitimate movements like women's suffrage, civil rights, and gay marriage already well in the rearview mirror, this was the next group that would embolden their never-ending thirst for an external purpose to their existence.
Once we hit terminal velocity on the polarization and tribalism in the late 2010s, thanks primarily to social media, transgenderism was pushed to the forefront of political identification and activism - leading many to self-identify into the newest 'oppressed' class, while continuously pushing the definition of such into an increasingly radical and nebulous concept. This indirectly enabled some of the most antisocial people in our society, such as narcissists, sexual predators, and public fetishists - not to even mention the exploiters of vulnerable young people.
The medical industry, smelling the multi-billion dollar blood in the water with this new social shift, was quick to hop on board, promoting gender ideology and setting up pathways to start raking in cash hand over fist.
Transsexualism as it was always known was completely hijacked; applauded on by Liberal "allies" who did not want to be seen as anything other than a winner in the progressive Olympics, and who now refuse to admit they were wrong in allowing our existence to be exploited for these ends.
These groups and individuals will double and triple down as the pendulum continues to swing back, unable to admit fault, only accelerating the inevitable. Blissfully ignorant to the damage they have caused to us, and society more broadly. And as they walk away from their fictional identities and virtue signaling allyship, and onto the next trendy thing in coming years, transsexuals and LGBs will be left to pick up the pieces.
