TIDEL Park Coimbatore was completed in 2010. Since then, what have we actually seen? Apart from a couple of small TIDEL and ELCOT parks, barely around 2 lakh sq ft each, there have been almost zero significant IT projects in the last 15 years. That is the reality. It’s always the same story. Tender after tender, announcement after announcement, and then nothing actually moves. Whether it is ELCOT JVs or the so called Tech City plans, everything just stays on paper. How can a city with this much potential be pushed aside like this? Coimbatore is constantly called a top Tier 2 destination for IT and GCCs, but on the ground there is barely anything to show at scale. The ecosystem is stuck in a cycle of being called promising but never actually growing. Startups struggle without strong backing. The city gets attention, but not serious investment. This is not just a delay. It is a complete lack of execution. While other cities are moving ahead with large tech parks and real investments, Coimbatore is still waiting. At this point, it honestly feels like the city is being ignored despite having everything needed to succeed.

Congress has suspended those 3 Dogla MLAs who cross voted in RS elections and appealed the speaker for disqualification.
But the catch is, Speakers power was made discretionary in the anti defection law and ‘it can’t be questioned in any court of law’
Guess who made this draconian law? Congress itself.
At the time they thought it will suit them now it’s being used against them.
Moral of the story is : Do not mess with the democratic fabric of India. BJP is doing the same with UAPA, Election Commission amendment etc.
Wait till congress gets a chance to use UAPA and choose its own election commissioners.

Centre has instructed States to withdraw state bonus over MSP for paddy and wheat - effectively telling them not to give farmers additional support beyond the Centre’s MSP.
In Kerala, farmers now receive Rs. 3,000 per quintal for paddy (Rs. 2,369 MSP + Rs. 631 State bonus). If such directions of the Centre are accepted, farmers will directly lose income.
Kerala has rightly informed the Centre it will not withdraw the bonus.
Paddy and wheat farmers’ livelihoods cannot be sacrificed to the Centre’s diktats when agriculture is constitutionally a State subject.

We have the world’s thorium. We couldn’t build our own reactor in 20 years. But we passed a law in 3 days to open the sector to a crony.
This isn’t policy failure. This is policy design.
Kakodkar is a patriot shouting into a void. The government isn’t abandoning thorium out of neglect; it’s abandoning Indian ownership of thorium, on purpose.
