There is no such thing as a mandated HIPPA reporter. A conversation could have corrected the issue. Apparently you don’t work in medical, which is fine, & don’t know this isn’t a thing. Yes you should report somethings & can but working from home & handling patient care happens all the time. Do you think Drs on call don’t have family around when they get a call…yes they do. Even Home health nurses, Hospice traveling nurses etc work partially from home or vehicle. This is just hate or jealousy of her sister not a mandated reporter law because there is none. Nobody could work if this was the case even the receptionist everyone hears in the office so this is NO different than helping a patient in your own home. The job allowed her to work from home or was part of her job description. (From the info we were given)

This woman reported her own sister for HIPAA violations… and it got her sister fired. Her sister works in nurse staffing and was taking work calls at home in the living room, discussing patient information out loud and even making comments about patients while the family was sitting right there watching a movie. The woman says she’s a mandated reporter herself, so she felt she had no choice but to report it. So here’s the question — was she right to report her own sister, or should family loyalty have come first? Would you have done the same thing in her position? If I felt this strongly about what my sister was doing, I would have had a conversation with her first, not just report her.

Actually it is partially to blame for the immigration issues. Watching your show & I have to say about the Corporal punishment it’s NOT a weapon that is used to discipline a child. It’s a tool to help correct something they have done. To call it a weapon is already sounding bias reporting . Also, corporal punishment was used just a few decades ago across the country & still used in my state today. That’s part of the problem you can’t talk to every kid to get them to not do something bad, gentle parenting. Even the Bible says that this type of punishment is needed. Our schools had rules, a second adult had to be present for any spanking, the parents are notified & every precautions made to do this in a safe way. Heck my dad said to call him & he would personally come to the school to administer the spanking in front of the principal. I would have preferred the principal/teacher because to break my parents heart was worse than any spanking could ever be. A talk hasn’t been working, this gentle parenting isn’t for all/most kids! Because in Canada this happened to you doesn’t mean this is acceptable in any school. 1-you have a crime show, this isn’t a crime 2-to tell the guest about seeing them again when this goes south just shows YOUR opinion on it. Kids need to learn the safety of a gun when parents own them. You do realize kids can hunt with their parents & need to know how to properly use the gun safely. They also need to learn it’s not a toy or something for revenge & never to solve a disagreement unless YOUR life or YOUR family’s lives are in danger. Teach a kid to hunt & fish & he/she will be able to take care of the family still today. If guns scare you that bad then don’t own one but you better have a friend or neighbor who can help until the police can get there usually to late at no fault of their own. Whites have an inherent bias toward Blacks when they see them with guns, because subconsciously they still view us as secondary citizens. They associate a Black person holding a gun with revolt against whites. It’s like in school: when a Black guy dances, people cheer, but when a white guy comes in and does the same thing, people cheer louder, because he’s seen as the ‘primary.’ When whites do something taboo, there’s a charm to it; when Blacks do something taboo, there’s an immediate negative connotation attached.
