Perfect first date idea: Always coffee. I love coffee. Buy me a latte. If the coffee goes well, have the backup plan activity in mind. Choose coffee near a museum, a park with an event going on, just something fun in general that doesn't cost much but allows you to spend more time together with a built in conversation starter with your activity ready to go.
