In general, never give pain management advice in open air. Some things are illegal everywhere, some things are legal in some places, safe drugs applied off label can be trouble... Be helpful, but keep yourself & your recipient safe.

Yep. As a white, older, disabled, bisexual, and poor patient, I have conducted experiments on my providers. My chances of being heard & further action taken are double if I look (and talk) like a middle-class mom missing work for the appointment.
