I don’t think physical video games will ever go out of production, at least not in the near future🚀 Surely they’re gonna push for more digital for convenience, and next gen consoles will likely have an attachable disc option, not a fully built in drive. But there will always be video game discs, the same way movies and music albums still come out on Blu-Rays, CDs and even vinyl records and cassette tapes for a premium price. Video games are far larger to download/stream compared to music a movies, which makes having a hard copy even more needed than a song or movie. Not to mention the collectors’ market And we as gamers should push for continued physical releases and for purchase meaning ownership rather than “access that can be revoked anytime”🎤
