Illinois State may benefit from Sacramento State’s move to FBS. Maine and North Alabama have openings on October 10th. Independent Merrimack has an opening too

An Illinois State spokesperson said that the Redbirds are still seeking a 12th game for the 2026 football season. However, ISU may have to settle for an 11-game schedule as the calendar continues to turn. As of now, ISU has an Oct. 10 opening. fbschedules.com/2026-illinois-…

The NCAA distributes hundreds of millions of dollars each year to conferences based on their members’ success in the men’s basketball tournament. Conferences essentially earn one “unit” for each game their teams play in the tournament (including First Four contests) before the final. Each unit earned in this year’s tournament will be worth roughly $2 million, paid out in annual increments over the next six years. Tonight Miami (OH) plays SMU in the First Four.
