Seriously, you all are missing my point -- the US is negotiating hard for something that China will take away the moment the relationship goes sour. Would like a world where US firms are selling directly to Chinese consumers, with out the intermediation of China's state/ its SoEs (COFCO). and I can assure you that China views ag imports as good retaliation targets across the board -- not just for the US. in all honesty tho you all missed the subtext here, which is that I was criticizing Trump for making this the priority of his administration

It doesn't surprise me at all that the Chinese beverage brand Chagee is becoming a hit in South Korea. I tried it once — the drinks all have very classical Chinese names and taste really great — but the damn thing about it is that after you drink it, you really can't fall asleep at night. Last time I had it, I didn't get to sleep until three in the morning. South Koreans are famous for not sleeping, often bragging that they only need four hours of sleep a day. So honestly, Chagee and South Koreans are a match made in heaven.
