After fees: Each got $300K instead of $400K. The caregiving daughter lost her home AND $100K. Nobody won. Family destroyed. A proper estate plan could have: Let the daughter buy out siblings over time Allowed waiting for a better market Set clear terms BEFORE mom died "Equal" isn't always "fair." Basic wills don't account for family dynamics.

Random question that I’m genuinely curious about: Why don’t commercial airplanes have an eject button? Like a button that can be pressed if the plane is about to crash that shoots off the top and every seat ejects with a little parachute. Is it a cost issue? Engineering impossibility? I have to imagine people would pay more to know they had a better (say 80% higher) chance of survival in the event of a catastrophic failure. Just something that I’ve always wondered about and now I want to know the answer to.

If you've never made money working for yourself, don't build some big plan on how to make $500,000. Instead, ask yourself, "What would I do if I needed to make my first $1 online in the next 24 hours?" You probably know what you would do. So go do that thing.

@cahouser The caveat would be leveraging AI. That is the better path to take. Use your taste and leverage technology. The problem is, most artists won't do it.

AI doesn’t know what “good” is. It has no taste. Art schools exist to train human beings on how to have good taste. Therefore, art schools do something that AI can’t. Bullish on art schools.

@cahouser My industry has contracted at least 50% in the last 5-7 years & it's not stopping. Whenever I speak to a young artist, I trying sway them away from working in art or at least have a solid plan B. Passion is one thing, talent is another. But livelyhood is a completely dif story.

@cahouser I would so love to agree with you. As someone who works in the "art" industry, it's a terrible career path. The amount of artists I've worked with over the last 20+ years that are no longer able to practice their craft because the jobs have left is devastating.
