UEFN Dev | Map Creator I’m always browsing for cool products to use in my maps — UI, Verse code, lighting systems, custom weapons, and more. If you build interesting tools or assets for UEFN, feel free to share them with me. I might not purchase everything, but I’m happy to retweet great work for others in the community who might find it useful. I’ve already bought a few products from creators I follow here on X, and I enjoy sharing cool things I discover. There are some awesome people building in this space, and I’m always glad to support and highlight their craft.

More bad discover news: 🚨THE KPOP COLLECTION IS BROKEN SINCE THE LAST UPDATE - No more Top 10 - No more Roleplay - Most Engaging is BROKEN NO OTHER IP collection is broken like this since 40.40. No changes were communicated. Is this a bug, or does Epic want the KPOP tab to just die? Because that's what's going to happen, seeing as now there are only 7 KPOP islands with over 100ccu... ♻️RT's appreciated to get this in front of Epic employees @Flak @HaroldAtEpic

Made a super simple quick item granter component to replace the item granter device for anyone wanting it - it will grant items from a trigger - customise it however you want (requires Custom Items to be turned on in project settings) pastebin.com/3h80BfFE

What a bad day & overall an horrible period: - Discovery tab is constantly broken, not that it actually promoted anyone LOL but I won’t say anything more because everyone complains enough -They are completely messing around with Epic Picks, everything changes from one week to the next -Something that looked like a potential breakthrough turned out to be a false hope and a mind-boggling bug - Star Wars... Has the ecosystem ever been in such a catastrophic state ?
Fortnite Developers@FNCreate

Hey @BeastFNCreative we’re really sorry for the confusion here. This wasn’t a test, it was an error in the Creator Portal and has been reverted. A compact download size means games remain available to as many players as possible – wherever they play. Later this year, we will add the ability to stream large assets (like textures and meshes) to UEFN, increasing what you can fit within the existing headroom.

#UEFN Yesss Epic that is the right way finally. Experimentation is the only way to get the results creators want: experiment, get test results, iterate, and learn. FNs UGC needs to be run as a startup. If anything, do more and bigger tests that is what this space needs to be better. 1 year to do a simple change because your afraid of doing the wrong thing. Will be worse in the long run. People are going to lose some results here but if they want the perfect ecosystem they ask for then they must bear these changes for the better. That said, there are things pretty clear which you guys miss, lol like the whole sponsored row deal, and really, 5 Epic Picks maps to 4? When the quality of maps is actually rising, and it's the best way for talented creators to be sustainable. No seconds row for Epic picks, and Homebar not rotating for all Epic picks maps ? Also, you guys already have the treasure of 20 years of Roblox experimentation they got results and found the best formula, which you guys refuse to look at, and want to reinvent the wheel 😓

@duos_with_dad @FNCreate Hey @duos_with_dad 👋- with our new approach to Discover Epic's Picks selections you won't always be in the homebar. We're experimenting with different configurations here, and we'll share more as these experiments come to fruition.

@jaythofficial It completely alludes me how Epic Picks isn't getting an easy 1 million impressions per day 😐 @FNCreate is on a speed run to lose creator and player confidence Players will find new platforms and so will devs In one word: embarrassing 😔

There is a serious problem with Discover which keeps being pushed aside. A month a go, the roguelike category was growing into a cool space with lots of innovation. Now there is no incentive. Even when the new discover changes happened, the top roguelikes were performing okay...

"We're experimenting with different configurations" Imagine waiting three to six months to finally get through the process of epic picks. Epic Picks is sometimes the most income a creator gets on a map, ESPECIALLY in the current state of discovery. It was breathe of fresh air to see curated maps get time in the spotlight of homebar. But sorry, Epic decided to do an experiment on your one week without notifying anyone, warning anyone, or compensating devs for the lost impressions/plays/money.

Sometimes the best course of action is to roll back or rebuild the entire system. You need to recognize when something is too broken to fix. Creators are delaying publishing their maps because of the current state of discovery. Numbers don't lie. @FNCreate

Currently, Discover is failing the average creator, and I have the data to prove why I believe this. Data doesn’t lie, so let’s break down the impressions Fortnite has given Zombielike so far during Epic Picks. Zombielike - Wednesday: 89,696 Thursday: 251,374 Now compare that to my previous Epic Picks project, Color Drop Brick Battles, during its first two days in Epic Picks. Color Drop Brick Battles - Wednesday: 2,264,800 Thursday: 3,723,514 Impression Difference - Wednesday impressions down 96.0% Thursday impressions down 93.2% Now I’m sure people will point to lower player counts, so let’s look at that too. Wednesday - March 11: 698,317 avg / 1,056,355 peak May 13: 580,226 avg / 913,056 peak Difference - Average players down 16.9% Peak players down 13.6% Thursday - March 12: 815,498 avg / 1,329,473 peak May 14: 623,944 avg / 800,098 peak Difference - Average players down 23.5% Peak players down 39.8% So player counts being down 15–40% does not explain Epic Picks impressions dropping 93–96%. And to be clear, Epic Picks placement itself has changed significantly. Back in March, Epic Picks sat near the top of Discover. Now it sits below: Homebar Featured by Epic Star Wars Standouts For You Recently Played Popular Sponsored So instead of giving Epic-curated projects meaningful exposure, the system continues funneling players into the exact same maps that they have been for years, through repeated priority placement across multiple rows. That’s why categorized rows currently feel dead. Players are being pushed into the same maps before they ever meaningfully reach anything new. There is no real “discovery” happening right now. If an Epic Picks project can barely break 250k impressions in a day, then projects below Epic Picks are likely receiving even less visibility. That should concern EVERYONE. Why would teams spend months building ambitious projects if being hand selected by Epic now results in a fraction of the visibility these projects previously received? Discovery will never truly be about discovery until the system stops force feeding the same maps everywhere simultaneously. Recently Played already guarantees popular maps retention and visibility. If those maps can’t survive without being prioritized in Homebar, For You, Popular, and multiple other rows at the same time, how is anything else realistically supposed to grow? It’s time this gets looked into more seriously, because spending months building a project that earns Epic Picks placement should not result in visibility levels comparable to what can be achieved through a small Sponsored Row spend. @FNCreate @HaroldAtEpic @Flak @alexbaileync @TimSweeneyEpic

🚨 UEFN Developers 🚨 If you genuinely believe the system is broken, do more than just like posts. Stop being afraid to speak up because you think honest feedback will hurt your chances with Epic. Constructive criticism is something they need to hear right now. Comment. Share feedback. Repost concerns. Make your voice heard. But do it respectfully. Don’t turn every discussion into attacks or toxicity. Be clear, constructive, and honest about the issues you’re seeing. And don’t wait to speak up only when the problems finally affect you personally. A healthy ecosystem requires feedback from everyone, not just the creators currently affected.
