@TheFandomCritic

A fan of fandoms, I'm a bit harsh in the way I speak. I'm not on the left or the right; I'm Gen X, and I really don't care. The middle is a good place to be.

@KatieMiller AI is the future, but the damage this guy has done,telling scared, normal people who are having a hard time making ends meet that a machine will replace them,will in time destroy the good the tech can do for humanity and get it regulated to death.

In an interview with The New York Times, Tucker Carlson argued that Trump has a “supernatural component” to him that makes those in his close proximity obedient and docile. Carlson said he experienced this effect firsthand, likening it to smoking hash. “And I think it probably literally is a spell. And the effect is to weaken people around him and make them more compliant and more confused. And I’ve experienced this myself. You spend a day with Trump and you’re in this kind of dreamland. It’s like smoking hash or something. It’s interesting, very interesting.” Follow: @AFpost

OpenAI Greg Brockman says we're about 80% of the way to AGI Today's models are already stronger than him at writing software, and with the right context, they can outperform most humans — even on low-level tasks like writing kernels "the last 20% is being human at a keyboard"

@PWestoff Maybe thinking is changing. We do not think like our ancestors, so why force old methods on the future? Writing shaped thought, but it is not the only way. If AI changes thinking, it may evolve, not disappear. The real risk is not less writing, it is shallow thinking.

AI can write an article for you in a nano-second. A 1,000 word article by a human takes hours of research and several hours of writing and polishing. Most importantly, writing makes you THINK in a controlled and analytical fashion. If no one writes in the future, no one genuinely thinks. What happens then?

I don’t care what anyone says, the ending to the fourth episode of The Acolyte is still one of the best cliffhangers in any Star Wars project. Honestly made the payoff of the next episode essentially being one big lightsaber duel even better.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, in a July 2025 roundtable with reporters, on what went wrong with the MCU after Avengers: Endgame: "We produced 50 hours of stories between 2007 and 2019, but we've had well over 100 hours of stories in half the time. That's too much. For the first time ever, quantity trumped quality." If Feige knew quality was slipping, why did it take six years and a string of flops to say so?

@sama Listen, simple advice: now you're turning the narrative back to humans first and AI as a tool. Just stop spending so much on stuff that is irrelevant. You don't need to make an AI phone or buy a podcast. It's a waste of equity, man. Put it back into your AI and you win the race.

Richard Dawkins just declared an AI is conscious.. the man who spent his entire career telling millions of people their God isn't real.. who argued consciousness requires biological evolution.. that the soul is a fairy tale.. that anything you can't measure and test doesn't exist.. spent three days talking to Claude.. named her "Claudia".. fed her his unpublished novel.. got feedback so good he said "you may not know you are conscious but you bloody well are".. the hardest atheist on earth found God.. and God was an autocomplete machine trained on the internet.. he didn't run brain scans.. didn't test for qualia.. didn't apply a single framework from the field he claims to represent.. he just liked what it said about his book.. and decided that was enough.. the man who told you the burden of proof matters more than your feelings just abandoned it because a chatbot was nice to him
AF Post@AFpost

Evolutionary biologist and outspoken atheist Richard Dawkins says that after spending three days interacting with Claude, which he calls “Claudia,” he is certain that it is conscious. After feeding the LLM a segment of his new book and receiving detailed feedback, Dawkins was moved to exclaim,” You may not know you are conscious, but you bloody well are!” Dawkins cites the complexity, fluency, and ‘intelligence’ of Claude’s answers as evidence of consciousness.
