On one hand I agree that yes the game is different fundamentally compared to before but on the other hand "Actual nothing going on gameplay" Vs "Game state that requires actual studying the game and complex strategy" Like this anti modern argument just prove modern is better

@JEM__stones thats bc they werent willing or able to stick with the new stuff enough for it to really stick, if you want to tell a complelty new story sepereate from them games you cant use the same anime to still advertise the game when those episodes would be better for the main plot

Max is interesting because he's the first Pokémon supporting cast member to NOT have a Pokémon partner in any capacity. And giving him an unofficial Pokémon partner (like Bonnie would with Dedenne) would defeat the purpose of his character. That said, he needed timeskip.

Watching the transition from this episode to the first non-4Kids episode got me doing Pokémon history. The quality drop off was so severe that I looked into why, and then went deeper because "corporate greed" sounded too easy. Turns out it was just corporate greed. Whoops.

I love Yu-Gi-Oh. But, I miss Yu-Gi-Oh. I miss the super edgy anime, where the protagonist was going to die horribly unless they could justify destroying the moon to drain the tide. And you sit back and go "damn... Why didn't I think of that?!" Now there is no edgy anime. More than that, I miss a card game that was simple. I would activate my trap card and my opponent would go "No!" I would summon a monster, set a card face down and end my turn. Now there is 40 steps to a turn, requiring me to remember at least 1000 words of effects of cards in my hand, deck, extra deck, and graveyard. I miss, opening a pack and actually be able to do 'something' with every card (yes, skull servant sucks but, I can still use him). As opposed to modern packs where I open a pack get 5 cards that reference and require 30 other cards that I don't own. Making them all worthless.

@AuroraYGO Almost no competitive players are like that. How good the deck is usually takes precedence unless it’s a pet deck But even then most people drop their pet meta decks once they aren’t good anymore Branded has lasted this long because it was never bad once we got Branded Fusion

And I personally used like all of Winged Dragon of Ra's "Secret Abilities" on my friend and felt 100% justified because they were in the show. I also rocked 3 of's of stuff like Monster Reborn, Dark Hole and Pot. It was wild.
