@louisvarge Welfare states started popping up after ww1, creating a system that people were forced to invest in. If newcomers can take advantage of it, then they become a burden on the citizens who are forced to pay for the newcomers. If there was no welfare state, there would be no burden.

i don’t understand why immigration of any sort is universally unpopular. almost every country on earth heavily restricts it this is a recent thing too! before world war 1, you could just take a steamship from Brazil to Paris for $20 and decide you lived in France now what changed? are people bad now? is that the reason more people are even more bad? back then income wasn’t taxed in most jurisdictions either. now we tax our own people’s income & we don’t allow others to immigrate and earn income. i ask again, are people bad? is working bad? where did this zero sum attitude come from? what if we could also start deporting our own citizens, to have as few people as possible. would that be even better? is 0 the best amount of people? what is the point of all this?

@MOA_Official1 @bumbadum14 There's little left to conserve. At some point, burning the husks of our once great institutions is the main way to stop the spawning of new communists

@bumbadum14 "We must destroy every valuable institution to own the libs." This is why we are losing people. Being conservative means defending institutions. Not destroying them because we lost our grip. We retake them, not forfeit them.

People proclaim the “end of woke” but the reality is the institutions have been totally captured. Theres no reality where we take law schools back from the left. This is why doing away with ABA accreditation is a big deal. At some level the government validates every credential that the left weaponizes. The validation must be stripped before anything good can happen

@waltwhitmangoth @BlackDumpling You likely can't at a young age, which is why patriarchy existed. It would be your father and brothers scaring off the dishonest men. We got rid of that, so now the dishonest of the species get to hurt women.

@fleshsimulator Regardless of if you're racist or not, saying the hard R says a lot about who you are as a person. Saying it isn't a big deal to say it doesn't make me think you're racist. It just makes me think you're a weirdo not worth my time. I'm sure it makes you feel smart though lol.

@EveKeneinan Quite. What leftists think is high openness - "dude, Green Day is so cool. Pass me that joint." What is actually high openness - "Wow, we don't really know that Aquinas isn't just plain right about nearly everything, do we?"

It seems obvious that "high openness" can easily lead one to being open to such things as traditional ideas. For example, a mere few decades ago the West decided, contrary to the judgment of the rest of the world and millennia of its own history, that same-sex activities were not perversions, vices, or serious social ills, but instead were goods that ought to be promoted and celebrated. Some people may be open to the idea that this recent orthodoxy regarding sex and sexuality is in error.
Wokal Distance@wokal_distance

Most people don't realize how common this is. People high on openness tend to gravitate towards things that are new or on the fringe, and many of them end up moving to the right to escape the stultifying conformity of cultural spaces that rigidly enforce left wing orthodoxy.

The "snark community" decided I was a chud for putting out a miniseries on MDE.TV, and when I didn't disavow the MDE guys and grovel for forgiveness, they doxxed me, doxxed my parents, doxxed my grandparents, doxxed my now ex girlfriend, doxxed my former in-laws, posted everyone's addresses, threatened to rape my ex girlfriend after posting her address, tried to get her fired, tried to get my brother fired, sent my family death threats, made bomb threats to airports under my full name, made youtube videos insinuating I was a pedophile, attempted to get me to relapse on a daily basis, DMCA struck my podcast off spotify, fabricated an entire narrative about how all of this shit was actually my fault, and reported me to the FBI for domestic terrorism The response from people on the left that I had considered friends, people for whom I had stuck up out of principle even if I disagreed with them on the matter at hand, ranged from at best 'mealy half-sympathy in private' to actively trying to farm clout off my downfall because they thought they smelled blood in the water (Ask falcon finance how that worked out) I'm back to working on other obligations again but I am absolutely still on the war path MDE never dies

Was talking to someone about the chud thing and said “Ya he was being dumb but I think everyone is growing a bit tired of this ‘magic word that justifies infinite violence’ thing” They hit me with a response I was completely unprepared for “What do you mean? The same thing would happen if you went to the ghettoes of New York and called some Jew a k*ke. They’d assault you too” One of those replies that instantly makes it clear you’re an idiot for even trying to discuss this with somebody so far removed from the issues at hand Like asking polar bears their opinions on airplanes

If you took the Covid jab, you proved you lack basic critical thinking. You injected an experimental mRNA tech rushed with zero long term data, the same one now linked to child deaths, myocarditis, and irreversible damage in the healthy. Literal crackheads have lived longer than some people who blindly took it. Politely, I’ll struggle to value anything you say going forward.

I used to feel this way too…when I worked from home. “Slurs” are bunch of crap, please don’t even use that pathetic word “slurs”, leave it back in the 90s politically correct campus culture. I’ve heard that word enough from the Left for a lifetime already. The Left totally obscured the meaning of “violence” and got everybody confuzzled— see, another corny, stupid word— does it matter, though? Do you mind if I say “confuzzled”? Did I get the point across? Am I allowed to say a stupid word? You are. I hate that word you used. It’s grating, it’s ghey and it sucks. It reminds me of people who I find irritating. But you can say it. I can’t do anything about that. The Left said “words are violence” and made everyone forget what real violence was. Ironically, if “words are violence”, then I should be able to use words as my personal weapon to defend myself from “violence”, in lieu of “real” violence. But of course, words do not actually equal violence, and nothing will make that physically, imminently true. So let’s dial ourselves back to reality, where words are tools that we use to communicate. To build a bridge between us. “Slurs” is an annoying word to me because it’s loaded and reductive. It closes the book on any further examination of what a word means and the context of its use. There must be something to these “slur” words for so many people to have such a fixation on them. How many people think the word “níggеr” to themselves on a daily basis? If a dollar was earned for every time the word “níggеr” floated through someone’s head, how soon would we be able to pay off the national debt? That word is so many things at once. A weapon, a joke, a monster under the bed, a trigger, a trove of trauma, a bad memory, a psychic relief, a decompression, a term of endearment, an alarm, a taboo, a reclamation, an accusation, a differentiation, a smooth roll off the tongue. It’s got a ring to it and you can use it so many ways. It rhymes with a lot of other words, it has an interesting etymological history, its ‘rules’ of usage are unique. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to play with it or try it on for size. The Left said “words are violence” and made everyone forget what real violence was. Now, people have internalized that confusion to the point where they measure how ‘civilized’ they are by their opposition to both kinds of “violence.” The problem is, “real violence” hasn’t gone anywhere. There are still people out there who are capable of the violence that you’re not capable of, both the “real” kind and this cowardly, figurative, verbal kind that everyone needs to get over already. Who is supposed to handle your violence for you, since you are too civilized to participate in it yourself? The government? Is the most ‘civilized’ thing to do, to elect a representative who will direct the violence towards your enemies? Have they done that so far? Should everyone feel at ease when urban thugs are throwing public temper tantrums because the threat of Iran is being taken care of? Words are the most civilized “violence” you can possibly resort to. It doesn’t get more civilized than that. We should be grateful when people are civilized enough to use words to resolve their problems and not real violence. Some people still haven’t learned that.

I cannot stand “based” ragebait. Calling people slurs, provoking them for content, and acting antisocial in public isn’t cool or based. I want to live in an orderly society actually, and these kind of childish eruptions don’t become less annoying just because you’re right wing.

@AdamSinger This biased characterization is so fucking stupid. “Radicalized” as in recognized they no longer have equal agency over their bodies and are pissed, as in recognized that systemic injustices exist. Yes, men want the status quo. They benefit from it, you fucking retard.

@lazarusatgate @Empiricist871 I can understand that, but I think we're in a minority to know that the bombs went off at that scale at all, or that the people doing it were communists. Horowitz in both his memoir and his talks filled in the gap of ideology for me.

@TheFool64209 @Empiricist871 I was disappointed in DAYS OF RAGE, because it just went over what revolutionaries did without talking about why, about who those people were and what they believed. I already knew a lot of bombs were set off. I was hoping to learn more but didn't.

The left was always Marxist. I realize this only now, after being a deluded progressive and useful idiot for many years. The causes were never the causes; the cause was always Marxist destabilization, delegitimization of Western civilization, and ultimately, revolution. Foreign actors (the usual suspects: China, Russia, Iran) supported this, but it was not just foreign influence. After the proletariat had failed to deliver revolution (because capitalism just performed too well, even for the working poor), leftists had pivoted to new revolutionary causes: race, "gender", sexuality, climate, etc. They sold these ideas well and weaponized a lot of good will. We thought we supported civil rights, but we actually supported perpetual racial grievance, third world score-settling and reverse colonization, the deconstruction of sex and biology, and of objective reality itself. We thought we supported protecting the environment, but we actually supported Malthusianist intentional deconstruction of modern civilization and a return to bitter scarcity and poverty - the conditions our ancestors had labored for centuries to overcome. That is a lot of betrayal to process, for millions of people. The enormity of the deception we fell for boggles the mind. None of this means that progressive dreams for a better world are wrong. It just means that the left is not the political force that will make it a reality, or even bring it one step closer.
