Patrick Dorgu is 21 y/o. When Michael Carrick was 23 y/o, he was playing in the Championship with West Ham. He then went to Tottenham and after 2 years there he went to us. With striker it’s remarkable. Check all strikers in the PL today and where they were playing when they were 20-21 like Sesko. Most are struggling for playing time at low levels. Players can’t be judged when they are 20-21 y/o.

So to get results from our £62.5m signing we have to sell our best player / captain… Where do you justify that Cunha will get similar output to Bruno and you haven’t just limited yourself by doing this? Also, why wouldn’t you look at other creative mavericks instead that are more creators instead of how Cunha wants to do it himself? We have needs in the squad of course and I’d suggest most of what you say is needed I would largely agree with and don’t mind the system you are suggesting but we had Zirkzee around who would do similar creation / facilitation work in that same role and was already there and you needed basically the same things. Maybe a goal threat running winger on the other side to replace Sesko but that was basically what he was signed for but we changed managers, moved out our pacy wingers (Rashford and Garnacho) and played a completely different way. What you are suggesting is closest to how I think he’s best used. And again though, on a limited budget was this the best way to spend money if planning to potentially change systems?

I think it should be asked at some point (and this is far from a knock on him), If you knew that MUFC were likely to transition to a 433/4231 this season, would you still have wanted to the club to sign Cunha for £62.5m in the summer? Why or why not?

My top manager for the United job Naglesman or cesc fabregas that's all I will say.

I just feel like Manchester United is so overanalysed at times when it comes to stuff like this. Young players are not going to be having 10/10 performances every game. Patches of poor form will happen.. but that’s OKAY because they’re young.
