I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ....I will not make excuses for God....He is not safe, but He is good, the very standard of good,

Sir, this conversation has been going on for a while; don't tell me my intentions.
The Lords Prayer is clearly intended to be prayed every day, and at least in the morning as we don't ask for our daily bread at the end of the day.
The Lord directs us to confess our sins, thus, this presupposes we sin everyday.
Now, if you don't think you sin everyday you do not know the Law, Gods thrice holiness nor your own heart.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 We weren't talking about the lost. You said no one, ever.
In what prayer did our Lod say that everyone sins every day?
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 Actually it does. The Greek word for predetermined is ὁρίζω horízō and means to decree.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 It doesn't say God ordained it
He use it in His plan
It is a subtle diference, but an important one
English

“YOU DONT UNDERSTAND CALVINISM!!!” is all they got 🤷♂️
5 Solas@5Solas2
That's EXACTLY how it is.
English

@philthatremains @Timcast Semi immortal? Thats some Orwellian stuff right there.
English

i don’t believe this at all.
Rand@rand_longevity
if you are alive in 15 years you are gonna be able to upload your mind and become semi-immortal
English

22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God did through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of lawless men and put Him to death.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 he did not ordain it. He allowed it to happen and used it for good
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 Its only illogical if your definition of the will is unbiblical.
Again, everything I listed is from Scripture, if any are missing or denied, then we are in error.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 he literally cant tho. thats illogical
will is our agency that God allows us to have
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 You want the Bible? Fine
Show me where it says that God ordains sin
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 You asaume God can't ordain while at the same time man having free will.
Which brings us to another assumption often made; the nature of the will.
What is the will as you understand it?
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 Could a powerfull God not choose to delegate agency?
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 Any view that doesn't include all these is unbiblical. Notwithstanding there can be mystery as to how.
English

The problem often with these discussions is the stay mostly in the realm of philosophy. Thia is not how were handle Gods word.
We must start with Gods word and here's what we learn from Gods word.
God created everything that was created.
Gods hand cannot be stayed and He WILL accomplish all He wills.
He is not the Author of sin.
The heart of the king is in His hand, He moves it as He wills.
God is all powerful, therefore, nothing, absolutely no created thing- this includes mans will-is too strong for God.
The heart of man plans his way,
But Yahweh directs (In Hebrew its causative)his steps.
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 No, He need not be an active party.
But keep in mind you're defining ordain as force, which is not how Scripture nor Reformed confessions define it. Again I go back to the WCF that I posted.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 Since God is omnipotent, everything He ordains WILL happen, there is no escaping
Is exactly the "faith" concept the greeks and norsemen had
So, in other words, He would be an active party to the abuse and not simply and observer like non-calvinists believe
English

@StephenKing Not JUST release them, prosecute all who made use of Epsteins "services".
I do wonder why Biden never did this?
English

Exegete the text for us.
1 And you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom we all also formerly conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @SnapThatGinger @Soteriology101 And your interpretation of that is the only one that makes sense? The answer is no.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 Good is good! Happy to hear that
We may disagree theologically, but you are still my brother and I wish you the best
English

@rbrtcoloradosci @Soteriology101 It isn't. But let me ask you to explain your reasoning...
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Soteriology101 It is if the person ordaining it is omnipotent
English

@SnapThatGinger @Waldorfmanhaha @Soteriology101 We are by nature, children of wrath, thats what Gods word says.
Furthermore, Paul in Romans 5 says we were made sinners by the one sin of Adam.
English

@TheGadFlyRising @Waldorfmanhaha @Soteriology101 When we walk in sin, we are by nature, children of wrath... Read what that passage says. Neither Romans 3 or 5 teach that we are inherently sinners because of Adam, or anything else, and Genesis 6 is obviously hyperbole, as it does not include Noah, and it's a specific context.
