@MaximumADHD We just reverted the change that caused this, redrawing your thumbnail should fix the issue.

@TheGamer101 Thank you! I see the update. Is this the same reason why the thumbnail fails to render as PBR? Happens about 5% of the time for me. I can provide you affected items if it helps diagnose.

PBR items on Roblox are massively flawed. For starters, with my own PBR items I have about a 5% failure rate with the thumbnail rendering as a non-PBR item - the failure rate should be zero. Just now, I've had something that I have never seen before in ANY ITEM EVER. The thumbnail rendered a completely different texture than the actual textureID! And, if you use the "try on" feature, it renders the proper texture! Would love to know the science behind this one. The red texture seen in the thumbnail was never applied to this item, however it was applied to a different item in the workspace today - I did upload it the same studio session. Any other UGC creators ever seen this before?

@EvanZir We overhauled it in 2025, it's now a more reasonable modern format (mp4) instead of the previously Windows only wmv recorder.

I’m surprised Roblox has never overhauled their in-app screenshot/video recorder, it released in 2010 Then again, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

@neruakita @Rolimons We can probably fix the thumbnail pose in 3d for more cases too, right now the issue is really only with skinned meshes/layered clothing - will look into it.
