I went back through the last 30 years of Rockets history and I think this is a top 3 most disappointing season during that span. The thing is though that in the case of the others, I didn’t feel as confused at the time as I do now. In 1997-1998, we went 41-41 with Hakeem, Charles, and Clyde all missing major time. In 2005-2006, we went 34-48 after T-Mac missed major chunks of the year for personal reasons. And in 2015-2016, we went 41-41; Dwight was out and Harden was dating Khloe Kardashian. This year, we’ve been hovering around the top 4 seeds with our top 3 guys (KD/Sengun/Amen) almost completely healthy (unlike the other years) yet an early round defeat feels all but inevitable because our GM refused to trade for point guard help at the deadline while our coach only reluctantly plays the one ball handler on the roster. Fred’s injury was catastrophic, but much of the situation is self-induced, unlike those other years, and there was zero attempt to mitigate damages. We just accepted that it “wasn’t our year.” Fans have every right to feel cheated by that.

Perhaps more accurate to say “any Turkish rapprochement under Erdogan…”. Israel believes rapprochement is possible with Turkey without any of these conditions That is why Israel lobbies so hard against Erdogan specifically. Israel argues that if you remove the “Muslim” Erdogan and replace him with a “Turk”, rapprochement will be easier. This is similar to how UAE constantly argued prior to their own rapprochement with Turkiye that Erdogan is unfathomable as a [Muslim] “Sultan”, but acceptable as a mere “Turkish” president.
